Decided to take the overseas numbers we have so far from some of the biggest markets and use it to compare with GOTG2. These are final totals for GOTG2 while Thor Ragnarok is still in early stages of it's run.

JL will have it's moment of glory next weekend that's for sure. I think all movies in the current Top 5 will be playing well on through this week and Thanksgiving weekend as well.

I'm very keen on seeing a Thor potentially movie pass the $300m and $800m threshold. Would be so great!

Ditto for 800M WW. This could creep up to SM:H WW numbers. "Foreign" (I hate using that word) BO numbers will fall off pretty fast, but, who knows? The God of Thunder is well received compared to Captain America (go figure, huh?).

That happened with T:TDW with a foreign total of 438M at the box office even though it wasn't that great and now with a really good Thor movie and strong word of mouth the numbers are once again picking up and showing that Thor is indeed a strong draw overseas.

Helps that Hemsworth actually looks like a God. And I am sure him being there markets the movie well in Aus/NZ.

It's $4M ahead of SM:H at this point, but the legs are still TBD. Best bet is it will end up around the $330M range.

I'll be happy as long as it exceeds $330,360,194.

That happened with T:TDW with a foreign total of 438M at the box office even though it wasn't that great and now with a really good Thor movie and strong word of mouth the numbers are once again picking up and showing that Thor is indeed a strong draw overseas.

Great that we have that kind of base to build on and now with a top film to blow it up!

I'm not an expert but from what i have been reading it's more likely to finish in the 800 to 850M range.

So Thor could be north of $700 prior to the release of JL.

700M by the time JL comes along. Give or take.

I don't think Ragnarok will be that high by next Monday. More likely it'll be between 250-260 million.
