Timelines about the Mad Max saga: original trilogy & Fury Road

Totally disagree. Fury Road should get sequels. All the sequels! That film was amazing. Road Warrior is my favorite of the series overall, but that is mostly for the story. Fury Road is technically far more impressive, and at the same time has a great story in its own right.

I know where you're coming from, but "Fury Road" is a supreme masterpiece and I'm a bit afraid a sequel would ruin its impact and value...

(I could be wrong)

I don't think so. It won't ruin its impact anymore than Spectre ruined Skyfall, etc. Mad Max is not like LOTR where it builds on each other. Largely, the stories are stand alone. I was never Beyond Thunderdome's biggest fan, but it being a less than stellar movie never hurt The Road Warrior in my eyes, for example.

Thunderdome is one of the most visionary movies of all times... and it's a masterpiece in its own way.

Said that, since "Fury Road" started a new universe, the sequel would be a proper sequel in the same way "The Road Warrior" is a real sequel to "Mad Max" and "Beyond Thunderdome" is a real sequel to "The Road Warrior".

There's a pretty solid continuity behind the original trilogy.

Anyway... did you like my work? :yay:

But they are all stand alone stories where events in the prior movie really are not overtly relevant to the current one. Same applies for Fury Road for me.

George Miller is getting up there in age, and pulling off a Fury Road sequel would be a Herculan task. Fury Road itself was a very difficult production.

From MM1 to MMBT, Max follows a precise story-arc: damnation, redemption and ascension. His behaviour changes over time too. There's quite an evolution.
Hell, even his costume is very "coherent"... and in MMBT you can find the "Road Warrior hints" on his costume, for instance.

The world follows a pattern from MM1 to MMBT. Very fascinating.

But the events of each film are really never referenced or matter to the plot. They are self-contained

That's true.
And that's because there are several years between MM1 and RW (the WW3 happened in the while), as well as at least 14 years inbetween RW and Thunderdome.

Any more feedback?

Out of interest, how many movie franchises have you done timelines for?

Well:

Mad Max
Evil Dead
X-Men
Universal Soldier
Donnerverse Superman/Supergirl + Other DC movies timelines

I'm waiting for Terminator 6 to complete a definitive timeline of the Cameron-verse (the one and only).

Cool  Is there somewhere I can view your Evil Dead timeline?

Any more feedback? I've just discovered that my site ammassed more than 81.000 visits in few years. Well, I'm deeply proud of it.

Can't wait to put the upcoming FURIOSA spin-off/prequel movie in the timeline. That will be a blast!
