TMNT 1990 by far. I walked out out of the theater for the new one.

This poll will almost certainly skew toward nolstagia, and for good reason. The first one might be simple and goofier but it had more heart and soul than the remake. I've seen both and I can't say I was really impressed with the remake.

The 1990 version beats out the 2014 version on nearly every level except for two things: the kid gang was stupid and the Shredder vs. Turtles fight in the 2014 film was way better than the final fight in the 1990 film.

This is a crazy poll. It's like, being asked to choose between cake and...falling in a pit.

The 1990 movie is easily better, and is easily more fun.
I confess enjoying the stupid movie that is "April O'Neil, and the Teenage Hulking Ninja Turtles"

LOL.
Don't go that hard, compare the two movies to chocolate cake and cucumber cake.

Both are... not good.

Both... are of equal quality.

And I ****ing love the TMNT. Always have.

TMNT 2007 is the only correct answer.

Also...doesn't this belong in the Misc films forum?

But only people who paid attention to the 2000's animated series would appreciate it.
2003 animated series is my favorite version of the turtles, and I couldn't care enough for the CG movie.
I love Turtles 3 more.

How is this even a question? 1990.

That movie holds up better than it has any right to.

Still haven't seen the new one. Don't think I ever will but since I haven't I won't vote on the poll. With that said the 1990 movie is a perfect storm. As a Turtles fan who still indulges in TMNT goodness to this day (IDW comic book series and the Nick cartoon) I don't see it being beat for quite some time.

TMNT 1990 was a fun, action packed, and reasonably consistent with the source material adaptation.

I really enjoyed it, both then and now. Sure, it was silly, but still had some reasonable fights (for guys wearing turtle suits) and the Henson-made prosthetic turtles were much more likeable than those CGI monstrosities. Still, as a fan of the comic I thought it captured a little more of the look, feel and spirit of the original (which wasn't made to be taken seriously). Yes, the sequels were absolutely dreadful, but the original is good fun.

Amazing that Michael BAy can spend hundreds of millions and still make unwatchable crap !

TMNT made for $13.6 million, made $201 million.
TMNT 2014 made for $ 125 million, made $ 447.
have to say that the original wins on value for money.

Just IMO.

I don't understand how this is even a question. :p

I reached to the conclusion that the new film is horrible. The original film had a lot of heart, and was a good adaptation of the Mirage comics, while adding some elements from the TV cartoons. It was just a very good TMNT film.

Leo looks awesome in that shot. I was disappointed everyone seemed to get a hero moment except him in the new movie, though I did find the new one enjoyable.

Neither. They both aren't watchable.

I don't like either of them.
All'a ya make me want to cry.

thanks for the gif, Ms. Feenix

It is stupid beyond repair, as someone who enjoys it even I cannot say otherwise.

TMNT 2014 is just a soulless, digital-looking version of the 1990 movie. Neither is great, but at least the first movie has heart. The 2014 version is a pile of hollywood crap. Nothing interesting or original about it.

2014 had the perfect actor for the Shredder. 1990 Shredder had a better plot and scheme with his child soldiers and all. The 1990 movie had a more substantial theme of family to it.
