r/ELI5 is my favorite. I also like r/TIFU, r/LifeProTips, r/AskMen, and r/GoneWild once in a while.

:o

What are your favorites?

I'm not very varied. I mostly check r/movies, r/askreddit, r/iasip, r/lifeprotips, r/videos, r/cringe.

r/AskReddit is probably the one I visit most, always lots of good things to read there.

i don't understand anything said on this page

I can't tell if you are troll or not. Hmm…I'll risk it.

www.reddit.com

It's basically a massive message board that "Is the frontage of the internet", which isn't really that far off from being true at this point.

It's design layout isn't very pretty to look at, but it has more than 6,000 subreddits. A subreddit meaning a topic specific message board/forum.

I definitely check the bolded ones out, especially r/askreddit, r/ELI5, I also like the others but don't check them out as often. Other subs I enjoy would be.

r/fitness, r/coffee, r/snowboarding, r/woodworking, r/beer, r/sports, r/nba, r/warriors, r/gifs also r/gif, r/imgur, and r/AppHookup. Probably the subreddits I visit the most.

I like r/AMA also. Very informative when you want to know stuff about the food you eat and how it's prepared.

Yep, pretty much. I was never a big Reddit guy until six months ago. My friend has been all about it for years and I always thought it was stupid. But once Reddit became my new alternative to Yahoo Answers, I was hooked.

Agreed, there are some really awesome AMAs out there. I think most celebs learned after the Woody one though.

Ah, it's really not that scary at all. It's nothing like 4chan, that places both scares, and confuses the hell out of me.

To elaborate a bit more, think of Reddit like the hype, only with vastly more threads called subreddits. For example, since you post there, the fitness thread. Only that is an entire subreddit unto itself. So the fitness thread here, is under the Community forum.

1) SHH Forum > 2) SHH Community Forum > 3) The Official Hype Fitness Thread > 4) comments/discussions.

On reddit would look like.

1) Reddit.com > 2) reddit.com/r/fitness > 3) posts > 4) commons/discussions.

The nice/annoying thing is that the way the site works, is that content gets voted by if people like it or not. Both at the post level, and the comments therein. So, usually the "nonsense" gets voted down, and the "good stud" gets voted up. Or downvotes and upvotes. Of course, since the internet loves cats, and similar, types of entertainment, a user generally has to visit more specific subreddits if wanting to find exactly what they are looking for, or use the search function.

It's like most things on the internet that are time killers, that can easily become addicting and distracting, that are massively popular.

However, want to learn how to code/program, want to learn how to really get into shape and increase your knowledge about fitness, want to learn how to get into woodworking, welding, snowboarding, help building your own gaming PC, or just about anything you can think of? Reddit has close to 200,000,000 visitors a month.

It truly is packed with resources, and knowledgeable people and it does have a lot of amazing qualities to it, despite all of the superfluous content.

This link might explain a little more concisely.

Of course!

It's not a designers dream, and the search function leaves a lot to be desired, but it is a lot of fun, they have kept it pretty much ad free and it has a massive amount of information about most things!

Since I know you frequent the fitness thread here, definitely go check out reddit's!

www.reddit.com/r/fitness

A lot of subreddits will have F.A.Q. or their own Wiki, which can usually be found on the right hand side somewhere. r/fitness' it packed with tons of useful information!

Fun fact for ComicChick: Arnold Schwarzenegger occasionally drops by r/fitness.

Yeah he does, his posts are so good. I mean one can never tell with celebrities from a distance, but he seems like a cool dude. I love the (somewhat) recent post of his in r/fitness where he basically scolded everyone to stop bickering and fighting. I couldn't help picture him in his Kindergarten Cop role treating the redactors like his students. Haha. :D

Yep, his tank video is awesome. I was all over that when it first came out. I'd love to hang out with Arnold for a day.
