On a Friday Night or Saturday or Sunday night ( or any night) where do you guys hit up in your hometown?Which are your favourites when your out of town? Got any spots you like that you reccomend?
Here in Washington I'm more into Hip Hop and R&B so here are some I thought of.
R&R is pretty thorough (717 6th Street NW Washington, DC 20001). Got like 3floors and is pretty diverse. Pretty strict dress code (no sneakers, t-shirts, sneakers, baggy clothes or timbs) but its all about coming out grown. The music selection is cool, can get a bit repetitive on the night and sometimes the noob DJ's play the same old, same old. But on a Tuesday its cool for old-school. Drinks are aint too expensive and it aint too expensive to get in ($5). I think it is a bit short though ( 9:30 till 3?) but its better for a quick jump off. The ladies seem ok, but you get a lot of out of towners. Which is either a good or bad thing
Platinum is ok. $10 but ladies you can get in for free. One floor of Hip Hop can be a bit boring sometimes cause but the drinks are good and decently priced. 915 F Street, N.W. Downtown Washington, DC 20004
MCCXXIII (call it 12-23) claims to be "trendy Hip Hop"and thats kinda a bad thing. Kinda too commercial. But if you like a mix of music on floors and during the week, this is your spot.Top 40, Rock, R&B, House, Hip Hop etc. Drinks are ok and the ladies are decent. Nice VIP room too.1223 Connecticut Avenue, N.W. Dupont Circle, Washington, DC 20036
Modern is pretty nice. Not just Hip Hop, but a mx of R&B, Hip-Hop, Dancehall Reggae, some house. So its a nice mix. Not too many strict dress code reguations, just no Atheltic Wear. 3287 M Street, N.W. Georgetown, Washington, DC 20007
Course there's always the little spots around Georgetown and Howard too. I'll drop some more clubs later and name some of the spots I've been to out of town and around the world.
Feel free to contribute and reccomend.
