Today, I Achieved the Impossible

That's right, the impossible. I finished Giant-Man. I had all but given up hope, and was actually looking to finish Onslaught, but lo and behold, as I approached the toy section at Wal-Mart, there he was - hamburger-face variant Weapon X, at the front of the line. Untouched by scalpers. Then I saw No-Neck Captain Britain. Glow-In-The-Dark Sentry. Teeny-Tiny Shadowcat. Hot Legs Warbird. Who-Pissed-In-My-Cornflakes Havok. Some Other One-Handed Clawed Guy With Hair.

And I grabbed them all up, gleefully running to the self-checkout aisle (well, not running, but it makes for a better telling), and then leaving the store bags filled, wallet a little lighter, and temporary happiness fulfilled.

So.... if you're looking to finish Giant-Man, now's the time. And if you don't have AOA Sabretooth, why the hell not? There's like, a million of 'em on the shelves.

yeah, its great having the GM series out of the way. I guess we were all scared for nothing. The only one I never saw was burnt wolverine, but at least i had hook ups.

For the longest time, the Wal-Marts in my area had nothing but Sabretooth. Oodles and oodles of Sabretooth. So to see the entire series in stock today save for Ant-Man and Thor (who I already had), was just... elating.

And I love the finished product. This guy's clearly the best of the BAFs in my opinion.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me Yesterday! Only regular Weapon X and Captain Britain were nowhere to be found, and I didn't have much money, so they're all on layaway. Oh, and Kitty was the first one I saw.

I could've finished 2 full giant man's by now. *shrug* But congrats. It sucks that AOA Sabertooth is the peg warmer of this line. With another Thor, two versions of Wolverine and the rest of the sculpts being reused body parts, Sabertooth is the only one that I would've considered truely worth the money.

I had a buddy stash some Giant Man wave figures for me in a Wal Mart. I wish I had a camera so I could have captured forever the look on the other ML enthusiast's face when I pushed back some stretchy Mr Fantastic Dolls and pulled out variant Weapon X, Warbird and Kitty Pryde.
When ML5 came out on Black Friday a similar thing happened: I was walking to the checkout line with the last Mr. Fantastic they had and this guy walking toward the toy aisle just stared at Mr. F as he walked by, craning his neck as far as he could before breaking into a brisk jog for the toy aisle.

i got lucky at my walmart....i got off work at 7 am and decided to go up there....i walked by the aisle as soon as the lady put up all the Giant Man series..only time thats every happened for me

Um...you check yourself out. Pretty much it.

There's usually a few stations you scan your own stuff, bag your own stuff, and ring it all up yourself. It's how I've managed to get a few "free" items on accident.

I don't possibly see how this could be a trustworthy check out. I mean....I love the idea but I don't see how people wouldn't steal ass loads through it.

And canada is the place where few people lock their doors (at least, according to Michael Moore).

They have a camera and a weight system set up on the bagging part of the checkout scanner. So if there's too much weight (if you're trying to steal something) or too little weight (if you didn't put the scanned object in a bag), it won't let you keep going until the situation is fixed. But I've accidentally not scanned stuff and I didn't have a problem.

Are you talking about the build a figure giant man or Goliath from a number of waves ago? Because I noticed that they're the same as Bullseye's. The body is from wonder man or Black Pather, whichever came out first and I think the head is actually a blond wonderman... I could be wrong about that.

Are you talking about the build a figure giant man or Goliath from a number of waves ago? Because I noticed that they're the same as Bullseye's. The body is from wonder man or Black Pather, whichever came out first and I think the head is actually a blond wonderman... I could be wrong about that.

I mean the BAF Giant Man. They have the same hands, scaled up. Also the same hands as Movie Human Torch. But the head's original. Wonder Man looks like Yao Ming, while Sentry looks a bit more like Matthew McConaughey if you ask me.

You guys are lucky. All my stores carry is Wonder Man, FA Thing, and Maestro. I saw an Iron Fist and X-23 about a month ago. Other than that, nothing.

I haven't seen him either. Every time I get close to his package, I am blinded by the sheer amount of purple.

I have, but that was months ago. The only place that I could possibly see a ML other than Maestro, Thing, and WM is at my comic shop, we're they're probably $10-$20 ea.

I've seen a couple of 'tooths or maybe I should say 'teeth... but I am looking for Kitty and WB first... Then I MIGHT continue getting the rest...
