Regardless, the movie presented the ending as if she liked the movie the moment she saw it at the premiere.

The performances were good, but the fact that Disney made this to reinforce what a nice person Uncle Walt was does make me feel a little ill. I don’t have a strong opinion against Disney as others do, but this movie made me understand how some could.

Is there a single historical period piece or biopic that doesn't make things up whole cloth or make things up to suit the narrative?

Well, to be fair, what she actually felt in that moment we'll never really know. She was crying that much is for sure by eye witnesses, but she only claimed later that it was tears of sadness.

Yes, the film implies that her tears were that she was touched by the ending reminding her of her father, but she says to Walt, "I can't abide cartoons". So technically, the film is having its cake and eating it too by not completely lying. We also know she loved aspects of the film, such as Feed the Birds.
