Very striaght forward interview for a business man ....I see no hate at all...My hate is still on Zak Penn and Kinberg for fighting him to put pheonix in the damn movie what a bunch of idiots!!!!....why couldn't they writers just listen to him and make it magneto vs the X-men...instead of butchering the pheonix storyline

Rothman's right in that X-Men is thematically more current and relatable than Superman... He has the decency (and it was more than politeness) to acknowledge Bryan's work on SR. Could he be wanting Bryan back for future X-related movies?

I agree wholeheartedly. I myself find the X-Men movies more endearing and relatable than Superman. I can imagine myself as a mutant, someone who is ostracized by the public for being different. I think it's something a lot of people can relate to. Superman, on the other hand, is this omnipotent being who is virtually indestructable.

I think Singer's biggest mistake was to erroneously make Superman relevant by making him all angsty and downridden. This is Superman, he's supposed to be optimistic, cheerful and the ultimate Boy Scout. He faces tramuatic trails, yes, but that never undermines his rationale and outlook. And as much as he pines for Lois, he doesn't let his attitude dictate that.

And this is coming from someone who absolutely loved Superman Returns, so I don't think I'm biased here. Rothman showed great humility in that interview, by both praising SR and even not gloating about the success of X-Men: The Last Stand. Might it be true that Rothman and Singer quelled their personal quandary?

personally, I don't think the movies were that great. I like the evolution cartoons far better even though many characters were quite young. I do like the movies enough to keep watching them.

So far, seems like he basically just said:
1. Well, we're still working on the Wolverine script.
2. Oh, Magneto? Uhh, I don't think we have a script for that yet.
3. X4? Ehh. The plan was for three X-Men movies but there could be more but most likely not following the same base from the trilogy.

Obviously, #3 isn't what most people want to hear since they want an X4 to justify X3.

in the end i hope Marvel gets EVERY character right of every franchise.. that way they can one day have a huge ass war with every hero...or something like that recent wolverine story where he starts killing heros for the hand(awesomeness)

I agree with you. But i rather them leave wolverine out of x men for a while.
