I put this in the products forum, but since some of you guys don't really look around there much, I figured I'd put it here as well.

Do you guys remember the Batman Returns figures from back in the day? I remember getting "Freeze Blast Batman" or something like that. His suit was white and black and I remember thinking that the suit itself looked like the 89 costume more then the Returns costume.

I recently found this figure in my parents basement, he was a bit beat up with scratches on the face, ect so I took out my paints and decided to work on him. Now, the figure had a pretty darn good "Keaton" likeness for a 90's figure anyway. I just touched up his face, put some coloring to the lips and added blue to the eyes and of course, a pupil.

I also painted over the white coloring a matt black and "dirtied" up the belt a little bit with dry brush. I then hand made a base out of the Marvel Legends Juggernaut base and sculpy.

Here's the finale result, I tried to take the best pictures I could to give it a "cinematic look." I'm currently trying to find the Batmobile toy from the Returns line as well.

The last one there is my favorit, it's pretty blurry but I got the look I wanted to out of that one. Again, this custom was nothing amazing and didn't take long to do. It was just restoring an old figure to stand along my other Batman figures.

Thanks, not 100% sure I'm done with it. I'll probably add things here and there, I was thinking about making it super posable....but then again Keaton himself wasn't super posable in the 89 suit. :p

I know what you mean.
The Batmen mobility got better since 89 and people still complain about Bale's head movement. Sure it can be better, and we'll have to find other issues to nitpick. ;)
About your touch up in the action figure: it's getting pretty fine for me.
I myself have this BTAS Batman action figure and I'm going to repaint it (when I get the spare time to do it). It will be gray and black.

looks awesome dude!!...ever thought of Batman 89?

nice paint job. The sad thing about the Kenner line is there wasnt an actual Returns costumed figure. They just reused the 89 mold. The only figures that had the Returns armor was the 14" Ultimate doll and the 9" Applause doll.

Just wondering how you attach the cape. glue?

Thanks for the complements everyone. Yes, I used a glue to attach the cape, it still has full 360 degree arm movement, I was afraid it wouldn't since the glue leaked down into the shoulders.

I found a Returns Batmobile on Ebay for 2 bucks, and it looks in great condition. I may have to pick it up. It does suck that Kenner reused the 89 line, I won't be able to make a Returns one. :(

Nice paint work VaderRise, looks factory.
Not to hijack your thread, but I recently re-painted my Mattel Robin figure to reflect his new look. I haven't done the pouch belt yet, and I'm probably not going to change the "R" symbol. So check it out. Please forgive the grainy picture.
