I saw that IMAX screening tonight. They offered to show it to us again. Once was enough.

Incomprehensible dialogue. Transformers with no agency and just gimmicks. A bunch of annoying characters. Overwrought plot. Parts of it looked like Independence Day 2.

Once again whenever an action scene starts they immediately move away from the Autobots and go straight to whatever the dopey humans are doing.

How are they going to make a Bumblebee solo movie again?

None of the Transformers exist in these films as true three dimensional characters. They aren't fully realized characters like say Rocket Raccoon is a fully realized character, or even flipping Groot for that matter.

Optimus had his own arc in the last one but obviously that was too good to keep going.

Every indication seems to be that Optimus is the bad guy and is the cause of what seems to be an almost cataclysmic destruction of the Earth.

Megatron is there, no idea what the **** he wants or is doing.

Government seem to be the bad guys again. So...still no idea what the flaming hells is going on.

Optimus goes to some sort of force, not sure if it's Vector Sigma or not, who tells him he destroyed Cybertron and asks if he wants redemption. Optimus says he does. He comes back to Earth, and Marky Mark is all like "That's not Optimus! I'm telling ya that's not Optimus Prime!" All the Autobots try to attack and fight Optimus at once.

Izabella is annoying. Dopey kids are annoying. "We're kids. We can get away with anything." "Where are the keys? I'm going to hotwire this *****!"

I'm really confused about what's going on with governments and state of the world.

Doesn't sound the best. And the spoiler sounds awful. But i always find myself enjoying these movies despite their obvious flaws, so i will see this one for myself.

How does it compare to the previous entries in the franchise?

How are they going to make a Bumblebee solo movie again?

For one thing, Michael Bay won't be involved.

And all these plotlines might make sense within the context of the movie. Seeing them out of order is obviously going to be a bit confusing.

I don't see anything surprising here. It's what Bay has been doing since 2009 (the first TF film was the least horrible one and at least had some redeeming aspects, it all went downhill after ROTF). This will be no different.
