The Last Knight Transformers:The Last Knight Official Thread

I'm actually kind of surprised we're getting a non-human female villain in this, given Bay's previous treatment of Arcee and her twins.

We had a previous non-human female villain. Surprised the whole android decepticon was a one-and-done deal, unless it turns out The Maker is one of them.

Well, Alice sort of counts, yes, but she wasn't in Revenge Of The Fallen for very long.

Nor was she a main villain like Quintessa seems to be.

They aren't significant characters. Hot Rod is nothing more than goofy tertiary comic relief. He's a French Autobot who doesn't like being French or really know how to speak French.

We know Crosshaires, Hound, Hotrod and Drift arent significant autobots. But I hope they wont be useless, like many autobots were useless in T2

We see Optimus running alongside and big robot in forest. is this Grimlock ?

I'm so glad Bay continues to find new characters to ruin. If we ever do get around to Unicron, he'll probably look like a robot version of Fat Bastard from the Austin Powers movies.

So he's the Autobot version of Larry the CAble Guy?

Grimlock is in the movie. Crosshairs' one major bit in the sneak peek footage was getting his finger dislocated by Cogman.

Not seen an official name for it... but it wouldn't shock me if that is what it turned out to be.

Me neither to be honest, but I'm mixed intrigued (because I have no idea what it is) and disappointed as it appears similar to "bringing Cybertron to Earth" which has SO many physics problems I can't even

Didn't they try to do that in the 3rd film?

Do we know what that planet thing is? Is it Unicron? Embedding itself into the earth?

It's either Unicron, or a deceased Cybertron. The latter makes more sense since Optimus' motivation in this movie, whether of his own will or not, is to resurrect it because he feels guilty about its destruction. The dialogue between him and Quintessa in the promos so far seem to confirm this.

Makes sense, actually. Perhaps finishing what Sentinel started?

While I mention him, RIP Leonard Nimoy.

Yep. There's a Sentinel parallel going on with Optimus in this movie, which I like, since Sentinel Prime so far has been the only Bayformers villain I consider to be good.

Oh hai, Hot Rod.

Laura Haddock looks really goofy in that pic. :funny:

That shot of Hot Rod is probably one of the better pieces of CG I've seen. The one thing I will give Bay and ILM credit for is these things never look out of place or obviously CG.

Yeah, as much as I liked Rogue One, without giving spoilers, a few characters were obviously CG. To the point it took me out of the film during those scenes.

Even in the first Transformers the bots looked natural. My problem in the first movie had more to do with too many close up shots. Which led to fights like Bee vs Barricade looking like a jumble of of parts. You can argue the script, and characterization, but IMO the later films fit the bots in the frame much better.

Metal (or whatever these things are) and architecture seems to be much easier to create via CGI. It always looks much more convincing than CGI human characters.

Nice :yay: can you please tell me what you saw?

The footage shows a battle with Arthur and his knights. The other knights are skeptical of Merlin and his abilities. Arthur's like, "he's all that and more." Then it shows Merlin riding in the forest, late to the battle. He then stops for a drink and is like "just a nip," and then starts glugging on his grog like a degenerate drunk. Next shot showed some like medieval Transformer dragon flying toward a rider I think was Merlin. Not sure what the context was.
