Been rewatching some Trek these past few months, and just had some thoughts I thought I’d share really.
More about how I’d have done them, maybe changed a few things around.
ST: ENT
I liked this show, but I’m not here to get into that. I would’ve liked to see the Earth-Romulan war though, so I’d have made sure this took priority over anything to do with the expanse and the Xindi.
I certainly wouldn’t have touched Shran; loved that character. I’d have also touched more on the Tholian, and (re)introduced the Caitian & Deltan.
ST: TNG
Should’ve touched more on Klingon politics than it did. I feel DS9 later took advantage of that, though I do like what they did with Martok’s character development, and Worf.
Could’ve dealt with the Borg more later into the show too (much like DS9 would later do with the Dominion).
ST: DS9
Don’t go straight to the station, instead pick up right after Wolf 359; have the two opening episodes about Sisko and his bereavement.
Close the two part episode with him looking out the window of the Enterprise seeing DS9. The first season should be a longer product of him finding himself, and have the season conclude with another meeting between him and Picard displaying a form of mutual respect.
Introduce the Dominion earlier too (and ally them with the Romulan, not the Cardassian). Drop the prophet arc.
I’d also limit what the founders were capable of in terms of shifting, there was one we met who could change into fog, or fire; that ability alone would’ve negated their illness as their molecular level wouldn’t been changeable - they couldn’t simply shifted the virus out of them.
ST: VOY
Instead of the Marquis crew, have Voyager and that Galor Class trapped in the Delta Quadrant; the Galor would last until the end of the first season before the ship becomes vitally damaged due to the Gul’s arrogance in combat with the Kazon, forcing survivors to join the Starfleet crew.
The Cardassian element here could have evolved their culture a little differently to the results of DS9, and it would’ve been intriguing to see Starfleet and Cardassian crew working together to get home, rather than a Marquis one (which are practically Starfleet rebels).
Oh, and don’t touch the Borg if you’re going to reduce them to a laughing stock. Also erase any mention of shuttlebay 2.
