If we're lucky enough to get a trilogy out of the 'Transformers' franchise, how do people see it unfolding?
In my opinion, the coolest arc would be to have 'Transformers 2' focus on the Decepticons sucking Earth dry of its natural resources - namely oil - for powering the growing war against the Autobots. Shady politicians and business men the world over could be viewing the planet's takeover as inevitable and - as such - begin cooperating with Megatron. Starscream's distaste for the humans would aggravate he and his master's power struggle, Soundwave and Shockwave would be introduced among the higher level Decepticons and the Constructicons would be proving a force to be reckoned with as Devastator. As with all great middle acts, the good guys would suffer great losses and the bad guys will appear to have been victorious. In the closing scenes of the film, news of a much larger threat would surface...
'Transformers 3' could introduce a huge cast of supporting characters, many of whom retain their Cybertronian forms in light of the Decepticons' unashamed tyranny and Earth's acceptance of the Autobots. Unicron's appearance in the Solar System threatens Earth with total destruction and Autobots, Decepticons and humans alike must band together to fight their common foe. Since the films require a more human element than the cartoons, Sam could play a pivotal role in the destruction of Unicron. In a way reminiscent of Luke Skywalker's unlikely victory over the Death Star, perhaps he could be sent inside the mammoth robot to take advantage of an unforseen weakness.
Now... my big problem with this scenario is... what of the battle over Cyberton and the important role it should play in the saga?
I know this is just a bit of harmless wishful thinking but what does everyone else think should/could/might happen in future films and do you want these films to carry on past their welcome or end with a bang at number 3 (or maybe 5)?
