I think the potential is there for Cruise and/or RDJ to get Oscar noms for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy/Musical.

-TNC

You mean Golden Globe?

RDJ was brilliant, I think he's a lock. Call me crazy.

Just finished watching it. Overall, a funny movie. The dialogue was quick and had some of the funniest phrases.

I never knew Tom Cruise could be so funny, but you could tell he was having a good time doing comedy. I didn't realize the movie had so many cameos...Matthew MaConughy was funny, especially the part when referring to his kid.

My only gripe with the movie was Jack Black. I usually like his work, but I just didn't really enjoy him in this movie. He came off as more annoying than anything. I felt he was trying too hard, like he was hoping to over top the other comedians. But that's just me.

The overall "gore humor" had me laughing the hardest, and of course their original insults were pretty hilarious.

I will for sure see this movie again.

The movie's been having some good weekday plays so far. It might reach $50 million by Thursday, and that would definitely put it on a good path before weekend 2 as summer is coming to a close.

It might have a little competetion from The House Bunny and The Rocker. Since they're both PG-13 comedies.

I don't know man, I think it has a better shot of staying at the top because of those two movies. PG-13, yeah. But those two movies appeal to just a certain audience. Like House Bunny is more for girls and young teens.

More people are going to want to see a rated R comedy especially since there is so much talk about it, no matter how young, they'll get into it. Just like with 40 year old Virgin, Superbad...etc.

Yes but what there do if there under 17 they're buy tickets for a PG-13 movie to see a R rated movie.

Uh I don't know about where you live dude, but they don't really check I.D.s here. I see young high school students buying rated R tickets all the time.

They check here in CT....lately it's become a big issue with a parents group here

Yeah, if they think you look underage they card you. a few months back i got carded for a r rated movie and i'm 27. lol. Someone must have chwed out the movie theaters ass for letting young kids into r rated films.

the theater chains are taking great steps to make sure ID's are checked...the theater I go to regularly checks ID's at the booth and as the person tears your ticket if it's an R rated film

my theater does the first but always never the second. they jusr see the number and tell you where to go.

If it's a big movie, they check here. They did it for Iron Man and Hulk, why they did that. I don't know.
The theater i go to has 15 theaters. and i see all the tme they come into the theaters to look around for people.

'Alpa and I is already wearing Earth Momma's natural night camo'...LMAO!

Well the House Bunny looks terrible.

Anna Faris always plays the same role. Dumb airheaded skank.

Was anyone else like "HOLY ****!" when Steve Coogan died.(I didn't actually say that, I thought it.) I was not expecting that. And then when Ben Stiller started messing around with his head.

[english accent] Hey, look I'm David Beckham [/english accent]

:lmao:

Okay I've finally seen it today and it was................okay, not great but just okay.

Now here's the reason and it's mostly because it was way overhyped as if it was the biggest comedy to come out in years and that always annoys me because I then go see the movie and come out expecting what the trailers showed.

I'm not saying it was bad I just was expecting more comedy than shock value because it seemed to rely much on Tom Cruise repeating the F-word to get a laugh and that type of worthless writing I'd expect from a Wayans bros. movie.

Overall the performances were good, the opening mock trailers were hilarious.

rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Funniest line is a toss up between " I will literally suck your dick" and "Who left the fridge open" :hehe:

While both of those were great, my personal favorite was the one where RDJ responds to one of the other guys pointing out that he's cleaning a fake gun. :D
