im watching an episode of outsiders on ABC,on how couples feel that thier marriage works because theyre free to be whomever they want to be with, while going to swingers clubs. now do you guys think this is a lame ass excuse or a case of different strokes for different folks? i mean if your willingly going to go to a swingers club i dont think there should be a reason to be together or married at all. i find this very odd.

It's different strokes. A lot of people see marriage as a committment that transcends mere sex and contact. They may do someone else, but they take care of and support only eachother. I imagine that lifestyle could drive some apart though.

So who's going to make a thread on asexuals

there's an annual swingers party coming up in October.... pretty famous around the city.

Yep. Not my cup of tea, but I do have friends that are into the swingers scene and it seems to work for them for the most part. I do know one couple that about trashed their marriage doing the swingers club thing, but they pulled back and realized they were WAY out of hand with it and using it as a way to supplant intimacy with each other. They still do it on special occassions as a treat instead of several freakin' times a week like they were doing before and with the ground rules that they'll find someone to share instead of running off with different people while they're at those functions, but they're happier than ever.

hunh wow. some sects of society are really weird.

i don't agree with it. you should be attracted to the person you're with, married or not, and if you have to sleep with other people to get your kicks, you shouldn't be in a relationship.

I think GAH wants to be invited.

He's got his work cut out for him if that's the case. Those circles VERY rarely let single males into the fold or into their gatherings. Conversely, single women are usually welcome.

What are the colors, don't they have like a color code to identify other participants in social settings

yes i know i watch tv too much but ims till watching that abc program, now theyre discussing marriage between cousins!!!!

hers a fun fact for you guys. did you know albert einstein was a child of two cousins? did you know he married his cousin?

roosevelt married his cousin, and rudy juliani(sp?) married his second cousin. all this completely floored me.

what do you guys think of this?

which why it's so easy to scam..... grab a "date" so you'll have easier access to said parties.... dump "date" and enjoy the spoils of guilt free, stranger-full sex.

Some members of the gay and leather communities have certain color codes and such to indicate their preferences but I've never paid a whole lot of attention to it in the leather community circles I run in as it's not a big thing to all but a small subset of folks in the BDSM scene. Don't know about swingers, though. Most of 'em are pretty nekked at those swingers parties, so I don't know how they'd show different colors and I'm not sure I really want any more info on how they might, either. :o
