(Author's Note:The following is an extract from a novel I'm writing featuring Captain America(obviously this is set before the Civil War storyline which culminated in his assassination), and the Winter Guard members Airstrike and Seraph).

In his time, the Sentinel Of Liberty had encountered many a femme fatale, from the Asgardian goddess known as the Enchantress, to fellow Avengers such as The Black Widow, Sersi, and the distaff members of the Serpent Society such as Diamondback, Black Mamba and the Asp, but he had to admit to himself, that he'd never met ANYBODY quite like Seraph. As he piloted the Quinjet back to Avengers' Mansion, he was annoyed with the way, he found his gaze involuntarily sliding from the sky to the albino dozing peacefully in the seat next to him, finding the gentle heaving of her pink sheathed alabaster bosom almost hypnotic, each breath separating her from eternity.
Get a grip on yourself, it's nothing conscious on her part- simply what Reed or Professor X would call a natural by-product of her ability to inspire ecstastic bliss in others by stimulating the pleasure centres of their brains-or at least that's how either would call it!

As if reading his thoughts, Seraph's eyes opened. "Where's Airstrike?" she asked, delicately stifling a yawn. "He said he'll catch up with us later." replied the Avenger. "Why don't you carry on snoozing until we get home: you've been on your feet long enough."
Seraph laughed, a light silvery tone. "One of the by-products of being an albino- bruises and shadows under the eyes tend to show up!", then her tone turned serious. "Captain, I really must apologise for my outburst of a few days back. It was most nekulturny!"
"There's nothing to apologise over." he replied diplomatically.
"No, let me "get it off my chest", as you Americans say ."
And what a chest- she was at least a healthy B-cup, he thought.
"I am hardly a stranger to your country, but there are subtleties to its form of governance that even I- and I flatter myself that I am more perceptive than many of my fellow countrymen and women- find hard to understand. How can the government allow hate groups such as The Friends Of Humanity to exist and spew their poison? Your former associate Hank McCoy, -better known as The Beast- has spent a lot of time trying to convince me of the freedom and tolerance of America. Is it real? Freedom for whom?"

"If it isn't real, then i risk my life for a fraud- and my costume and very name are for a mountebank! It's hard for me -or any other American for that matter-to explain this to someone who has lived under a repressive regime-such as the former government of your country -to understand the depths of freedoms our Constitution affords citizens. It's like trying to explain the colours of the rainbow to someone who was born blind, I suppose."
"An apt analogy.", the albino's brow furrowed as though in deep thought for a moment, then she changed the subject. "My mother's family lived through the siege of Leningrad. Airstrike says that Americans know little if anything about war is like, with exceptions of films like The Battle of The Bulge, The Dirty Dozen, The Battle of Midway, and Saving Private Ryan. His favourite is Enemy At The Gates - but that's no surprise; his father fought at Stalingrad!"
"I-and my fellow Invaders did indeed see service on the Russian Front during The Great Patriotic War. it's possible that his father saw us in action there. And I would vigorously dispute his claim that Americans know little of the reality of war. The Wars of Independence, 1812, the Civil War , WWII, Korea, Vietnam and now Iraq disprove his thesis. In a strange way, I can understand why he feels the way he does."
The albino lifted an eyebrow delicately. "How so?"
"I can understand what it feels like to be suddenly considered a stranger in my own country. After I was thawed out by the Avengers after being in hibernation for nearly two decades, I felt as though America had changed to such an extent that it seemed like a different planet. Everything I'd ever know-everybody I'd ever loved- was gone. It took me years to get used to all the changes."
"I never thought of it in those terms", she murmured, brushing a strand ogf hair out of her eyes.
