It seems like this movie would do well to have a little prologue from the Watcher to illustrate the epicness of it. Maybe if not at first, then as a way to have a recap at the beginning of part 2. However, I'm assuming that the Watcher is with the Fantastic Four.

So, what do you think. If Marvel could use Uatu, would you want him in this movie?

I'd love to see shots of him watching on during the climaxes of the major marvel movies. If they have the rights to him, IW would be the perfect time to introduce him.

I've been thinking this for a long time that they should open this movie with a booming voiceover from Uatu informing us that the events that are about to unfold will be of epic proportions and threaten the very fabric of the universe. Its a simple yet ominous way of telling the audience "This is it. This is the main event." In fact, I think they should even do this before the Marvel Studios logo reel appears.

Maybe part one's stinger can be like the panel from IG where Thanos and Mephisto are looking up at Utau as he just levitates above them.

Then part two can open with Uatu speaking over a montage of everything that's happened in the MCU from the very beginning to that very moment where they are now.

I'd love for Uatu to show up. I think they should introduce him in a post credits scene so that people become familiar with him. Then have him serve as a narrator like the ideas mentioned above.

Yes, I favor this idea. I've loved the fan theory that Stan Lee is the Watcher, but I don't think this kind of role would work for him (the way you guys have described it is way more epic then the Stan Lee theory).

I'd like it if he was introduced in a stinger before IW part 1 though, kind of like Thanos was

If Fox doesn't want him, I guess they can use him.

Weren't the Watchers shown in GotG briefly?

No that was the Celestials.

And no I don't want to see the Watcher. The campy stuff in GOTG worked perfectly because the movie had a comedic, jokey tone and didn't take itself too seriously.

I'm less sure they could do a serious movie like Infinity War and open it with a giant with a huge head without making it look stupid.

The Watcher can morph into other people. It would be great if they made Stan the Watcher before shifting him into the actor they want for Uata.

I think he was talking about the guys at 1:47 in this video:

Anyways, I think Marvel can make Uatu work if they adjust him. Yondu was pretty much nothing like his comic counterpart, but was well recieved. They don't have to make Uatu a giant and with a huge head. He could just be a normal sized bald humanoid alien.

I like this idea. Is there a website or anywhere to check which studio has the rights? He probably is tied up with F4, but maybe there's a loop hole like some other characters

Uatu would be an intriguing addition but I can't help but think the whole point of original sin was to remove him from the marvel u. Perhaps the rights to him belong to fox?

Stan Lee being the watcher depends heavily on how much acting the character requires. Stan leaves a little to desire in that department. But that would be cool.

I think they can tone down the big head. In this version here, it hardly seems noticeable at all.

Not those guys.

Yeah, those ones. Though I wasn't 100% on whether they were or not.

As far as wanting to see Watchers. I'm not that keen. I wouldn't say not to something like that from GotG where it's not overt. I don't want to see Uatu's giant head floating around just to announce that the forthcoming storyline is 'serious business'.

Agreed on all counts. Stan is great for playing someone who has no idea what's going on, which is the exact opposite of the Watcher. But I like what was mentioned earlier of having him morph into a different actor. It's a great, and fun, way to tie him into all the other movies. He's been around, we just didn't know it. It also explains his cameos in the MCU (not that they need to be explained, but it's fun) and it almost adds a multiverse idea, what with Stan's cameos in other studios movies.

Trust me, I'd love it if they explained that he's the watcher. The only problem I have with that is, once you explain the joke, I don't think they could use it after that. That seems a pretty big step to take.

I'm pretty sure the point of original sin was to push the original nick fury out and give room for the new one. Which is why he replaced Uatu, so that he won't be able to do anything anymore.

Yeah that and Winter Soldier's last book got axed so they were struggling to find a new role to give him for an ongoing after the movie.

This is probably true. Maybe of they decided to go more subtle with the cameos. Instead drawing attention to "hey it's Stan!" They could put him in group shots where you don't see him right away unless you're looking for him. We are also talking about the end of Phase 3, when a lot of changes are going to happen to this universe. Maybe that's an appropriate time to do that anyway?

He's 92. Sadly, we don't know if he'll be alive in 2019.
If his last role is The Watcher, that'll be pretty cool.
And, even if he is alive at the time, I don't think he'll be able to make cameos anymore.

Please tell me we aren't going back to that mind set again.
"Something can't be done in a movie unless its done in a specific way"

This is almost as bad as Nolanites' views of how to make stuff work in superhero movies.
