Animated comedy taking place in an animal world focusing on a koala that launches a reality singing competition. The above cast already gives you an idea of what to expect.

They didn't even make the koala Australian?

McConaughey: "Well......I could use a couple million dollars."

Actually the budget for this must be insane between the big-name actors and all the licensed songs.

Full trailer.

It looks alright, didn't give me a "must see" vibe, probably will just wait till it's released on dvd/bluray.

It still sits in the 'alright' category for me.

I saw the trailer on The Secret Life of Pets.

It looks awful.

Yeah, I know this is a very old thread, but I saw this movie the other night and I have a question:

Did the moviemakers ever say what happened to the Mike, the jerk mouse character, at the end of the movie? The last we see of him, he and his girlfriend are trying to get away from a gang of Russian bears who are out to kill Mike, and one of them is on the trunk of the car they're driving (unknown to them). And...that's it. We never see them again. I can only assume the bear killed them both since they're defenseless, but that seems pretty dark for a kid's movie. It really surprised me that the movie left that plot line there because usually animated movies wrap everything up, and Mike was one of the main characters, even if he was a big fat jerk.

Not a super important question by any stretch, just curious if this dangling plotline was ever addressed anywhere.

Just watched this on Netflix. Mike's fate will probably be shown in the sequel.

I’ve seen this movie a million times thanks to my kids. I hope Mike got ripped to shreds by the bear and the only glimpse of him we get in the sequel is his skull being worn as a necklace by one of them.

I usually don't complain about a trailer showing too much - I mean, marketing has a job to do- but I think they literally gave us the entire film in 3 and a half minutes.

I feel like that's somewhat typical for animated films like this but, yeah, 3 and a half minutes is far too long for the first trailer. I would imagine a second and possibly third trailer will be coming for this as well.

Considering Minions 2 got delayed by 2 freaking years total, Illumination's clearly trying to go "We're still working on stuff, don't worry!"

Regardless, the movie looks great. First one was better than it had any right to be.

I loved the last one so much I am so down for this

The trailer was a summary for the whole movie, showing every plotdetail for each character. So I think I will listen to the album and otherwise I pass here.

Another jukebox musical with talking animals? I'm in. :o
