Universal Studios backlot burned down-king kong destroyed

This is a great shame, esp in this age where great creations are animated computers creatures and not animatronic greatness.

I was just out there two weeks ago...almost went to Universal but we opted for Disneyland instead. I can't believe how bad the fire was.

I'm glad no one was seriously hurt, and I'm glad it looks like the clock tower is OK. I love those movies.

u made a good choice.. universal studios sucks... the theme park only has like for decent rides... totally not worth the money. six flags and disneyland are much more worth it

I also get into Disneyland for free, so that sealed the deal. There rides at Universal were pretty much the same as the ones I've been on at the Florida version, which was another reason we skipped it.

i wanna go to disneyland for free again :( (we knew someone who worked there who got us in, but she doesnt work there anymore :( )

I wonder if Disney's California Adventure still gives discounts to California residents. I went there during a family reunion in LA just after the park opened, and I think my school ID (with a California school on it, of course) got me in for like half price.

only in California, the florida US is amazing

I am going into work today. If I can, I will try and snap some pictures. I work a summer gig bartending and selling smoothies Just beside the tram

California has heart. It's just all up here in the San Francisco area, where plastic surgery isn't considered a recreational activity.

YAY AREA..BABY:woot:

Definitely. California US had about half the rides of the Florida version, most of which I'd already ridden there. I figured I could go on the Mummy ride again (I love the Mummy ride), or go on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland that I had never been on before because Florida doesn't have it. Had to go see Indy.

The Florida Universal Studios was amazing when I went! I haven't been in about 10 years though.

And they supposed have taken out the "Back to the Future" ride...which I am very upset about! :cmad:

Does anyone know if the Bates Motel was affected by the fires? I really hope not... :csad:

Where's Shatner when you need him!? I think he single handedly put out the Paramount Lot fire way back when they were filming one of the Star Trek movies there.
