This is serious stuff. Creators who worked on various Marvel/Dabel Brothers books have yet to receive payment for their work. Rich Johnston's Lying in the Gutters column listed the ones that have come foward about it. It'm important to note that the responsibility falls on the Dabel Brothers for payment and not Marvel, even though Marvel is willing to pay them for their work. Looks like another Pat Lee fiasco, to me. The list is as follows:

- Ricardo Ratton and Alex Starling, owed $1650 for pencils/inks/colours for half of "Ptolus" #5
- Eduardo Pansica and Alex Starling owed $3300 for pencils/inks/colours for all of "Ptolus" #6
- Jason Berek-Lewis $250 for script for "Legacy: The Rebellion"
- Ig Barros, $195 for digitally painted cover of "Magician" #7
- Rodney Buchemi owed $6900 for pencils/inks of all of "Red Prophet" #7, 8 and 10 and the cover of "Red Prophet" #11 and 12
- Vitor Ishimura paid $900, still owed $2400 for "Wyrms" #4 and #5
- Luis Hernrique owed $800 for pencils of 16 pages of "Anita Blake" #6
- Alisson Ricardo paid $540, owed $1175 for cover of "Origins Of Prey" #2, pencils for "Origins Of Prey" #3, 13 pages of pencils in "Origins Of Prey" #4.

Are these guys regular creators on these books? Seems like Dabel thought they could get away with not paying the fill in guys.

Either way, I find it funny that all the conspiracy nuts on Newsarama claiming the whole "Marvel's being a bully again and stole these properties!" have been silenced.

Sounds to me like Marvel's being the good guys when they don't have to be.

Yup, I find it hilarious that people automatically jumped to the Marvel is evil conclusion.

I guess this Is this why The Dabel Bros and Marvel recently parted company?

It was a violation of their contract. So yeah, it was a leading factor.
