USA's Covert Affairs

Hadn't heard of this until I saw this thread, it has a bit of an Alias vibe about. I like USA's shows so I'll check it out but I have the same reservations about Piper Perabo.

Yeah, I'll watch because USA produces only quality shows, but Piper Perabo worries me. USA's shows are great in large part due to the calibre of talent they have in their actors. She has not shown me anything that says she is on level with Bomer, Donovan, Roday, etc.

Not the type of role I expected out of Piper Perabo. I kind of expected her to be in a sitcom as the girlfriend.

I think USA is still trying to crack that female-lead show. In Plain Sight, while still on, is like the less successful weird step-sister to Burn, Collar, Monk, Psych, and Pains.

That's why I think they want this or/and Facing Kate to take off and not end up in the trash like The Starter Wife.

I don't know who the lead actress is but my first impressions are:

1. She kind of looks like Jennifer Garner.
2. She's hot even though I hate the giant fish lips.
3. She's not a very good actress. The way she delivers some of those lines looks and sounds weird.
4. The premise for the show is just ho-hum.

I actually like In Plain Sight and don't consider it a weird step-sister to the other shows on USA. I think it has its own sturdy legs to stand on.

no one knew if Jefferey Donovan could cut it in Burn Notice becuase he doesn't have the typical leading man look, I was very hesitant because I hadn't seen him in anything else (anyone in here saying they knew Burn Notice would be a hit right away is a damn liar)

and I like Perabo, hope it works out

Hmm, I saw the commerical for it the other night and it looks pretty good. I'll give it a chance due to the fact that USA produce's some quality television...That, and Perabo is hot. So we'll see.

this show looks interesting and with nothing else on during the summer, I'll probably check this out. This reminds me, when is Royal Pains coming back?

It could suck and they'd still shove the female protagonist down our throats.

See-In Plain Sight

got a problem with strong women??

I don't watch In Plain Sight but I love the actress in it

June 3rd to be exact.

Yeah, Mccormack fits like a glove for In Plain Sight. I've only watched a few eps of it, not consistently - and the show itself is fairly good. Marshall compliments her character well.

Hmm...doesn't seem that impressive. Of course, being USA, I'll give it a shot for a couple of weeks. They've easily earned that over the past few years.

I haven't seen too much of In Plain Sight. I did like the promos for the series when it first aired. Particularly this one. Pause at the 0:40 sec mark!

Agreed. A good USA show doesn't need any more than that, if even that many.

any show Ill give 3 to, to determine if its DVR worthy....I understand that a pilot is a rough draft of sorts so to judge a show solely on the pilot is foolhardy IMO

Since it's a show on the USA Network that is not a wrestling program, the chances of the show being very good are very high.

I love IPS, too, but it's the only female-lead show. On top of that, it doesn't get near about the acclaim the others get and it's way more dramatic than all of the others as well.

Dodgy eyes chick "You brought me porno?"

Mary "Yes, to help you pick out your new breasts"

:lmao:

I like Piper, but I haven't bought her as a leading lady yet.

This series looks painfully average. There's no interesting hook or lead in with the premise. It basically looks like Alias-lite. Piper plays a new CIA recruit, there's a mole in the CIA . . . ok . . . that's like every spy movie plot ever.

Kind of looks like TV purgatory now for Piper Perabo.
