Hmm. It strikes me that Val Kilmer is lowkey a pretty weird guy. Seems like a cool dude though. Hope the future favours him a lot more than the recent past has.
This doc was great. Emotional of course. I did a double feature today of this and the Robin Williams doc. Needless to say a lot of tears were shed. Both excellent watches.
I feel like he was unfortunate to become a leading man in the wrong era. The 80's and 90's were even more the time of the Hollywood movie star which Kilmer seemed uniterestred in being.
Kilmer probably would of loved to be a 20 or 30 something actor in the last twenty years with all these cable and stream networks or indie films making more complex character actor type stuff.
Kilmer would of seemingly been more happy as Batman under Nolan, Reeves or even Snyder as they all got to do a bit more character based stuff than he did with his Batman.
To be honest though, Kilmer was difficult to work with in his prime. If the press was hard on him in the 90s, you can imagine what would happen to him today.
