Horror Valentine's Day Slasher Rom-Com ''Heart Eyes'' (Sony/Spyglass)

Both understood the assignment, it's just you prefer one to the other and that's okay.
That's your opinion and that's fine but as someone who grew up with the media Leone is trying to emulate, they're creatively bankrupt at best and mean spirited sexist garbage at worst. The whole shock value angle even fails because everything looks like rubber ****.

I don't think you know what he was trying to emulate if you think that. But again, that's fine if you don't like it.

I'm just saying comparing this movie to Terrifier is kinda weird tho when one is a studio-driven project and the other one had to raise money online to get it made.

I understand exactly what he's going for but in typical fanboy horror fashion, he doesn't understand the genre he's emulating beyond the surface just like Adam Green and Rob Zombie before him. Adam Green at least got better over time.

Craven was able to pull off more believable gore with latex condoms and lunch meat than what's seen in the terrifier films so spare me the nonsense about the budgets and studios.

Managed to catch this after work, I enjoyed it a lot and would watch another. The 2 leads were really good and got you invested. I just felt the reveal was obvious and the 3rd act needed some work. Lots of fun overall though.

8/10

Terrifier is a slasher built on misogyny.
