Its still alive but its just not commercially sustainable for these supermarkets to have physical media around their stores.

The music record distributors have found a way to sell their albums/singles in vinyl, cassettes and CDs in 2023. Physical formats for film and videogame would too.

Physical formats for videogames are way easier to find though. I don't know any local store that still sell physical format for film, music and tv shows. My local store always has the latest games in blu ray from the game's eXact release date.
