Wall Street II: Michael Douglas and Oliver Stone are Back

Trailer started great, music was freakin awesome...and then it sort of faded away at the end. Bit of a poorly constructed teaser on the whole, however, Gordon Gekko is back baby! **** yeah! For everyone who's commented on the teaser but has not seen Wall Street, go watch it. Now. :cmad: :wow:

"Shia labeouf" in the same size and at the same level as "Michael Douglas"....that's something ....:p

Shia would get top billing next to Sir Laurence if he was still alive if Spielbergo had his way.

agreed, Braddock....I've only seen the films he's been in and if directors didn't think he could handle it, he wouldn't be in all these big films....I think the internet just has people it likes to pick on and LaBeouf is on that list....I blame AICN and Theater Hopper

and like I said earlier, he wouldn't even be in the movie if Oliver Stone didn't think he could do it, you may not like his films, but Stone knows how to cast....remember all the **** he got for casting Jamie Foxx in 'Any Given Sunday'?? that worked out

It's not that Shia can't act, it's that the net nerds are pissed because someone who is obviously "one of us" made it big and they didn't.

if he can hang on screen with Michael Douglas and Josh Brolin, I'd hope some of those critics would quiet down a bit

I like Shia. I also think he gets hate because he living the fantasies nerds want. And he's actually a good actor.

I hated him for awhile just cause he looked like a dick...but after Indy and Transformers, I've come to like him.

I liked him in Disturbia, I didn't judge much his acting in either Transformers movies because that's rather useless, Eagle Eye was too dumb to care about his performance as well, but again, I just can't see him as a cut to the throat type Wall St. character

i was expecting him to look a little older in the movie.
he looks like a 15 year old boy in a suit. how old is he in the movie and is he still in school?

he's not supposed to be 'cut thoart', just a young smart guy who wants to get ahead...Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) from the first film wasn't cut throat at the start, just an ambitious guy who wanted to get Gekko to give him a chance

Funny enough, Charlie Sheen was actually younger than Shia LaBeouf when he shot Wall Street. Sheen was 22, LaBeouf was/is 23.

just about to say that....I think it will work and I will always give Douglas the benefit of the doubt

You need to watch Natural Born Killers again then. At first the style may steer people away (as it almost did me) but it takes getting used to. It could also be an aquired taste. But the style actually served a purpose to the mindset of the characters and the world around them. It's a good examination of the madness of the world.

I get kind of sick of Stone and his biographies. I couldn't stand JFK. but his other films like Platoon is a must see for any movie lover. I need to see Born on the Fourth of July as well.

I'll definitely have to check out his other films. To be fair, I've only seen the ones that are regarded as his worst. NBK may leave a better impression on me if I watch it, who knows...

Though, for Wall Street 2, Shia looks completely miscast. I loved seeing Christian Bale as a young, wealthy stock broker and Charlie looked great, but I look older than Shia and I'm at least five or six years younger than him. And his delivery (and line in general) near the end of the trailer...ugh.

Sheen looks in Wall Street young like Shia?

we don't get to see the whole scene but I love when he tells Gekko: "no matter how much money you win mr gekko....you'll never be rich"......sounds right and I expect him to be at his best in front of Douglas
