Was Wes Bentley Aronofsky's choice for Batman?

I heard somewhere when Aronofsky was on the Batman: Year One project with frank Miller that his top two choices for the role of Batman was Christian Bale and Wes Bentley, is this true?

I heard from a couple of people on the net, though I couldn't find anything on it officially. So I came here because I know alot of you guys kept up on the news of Batman: Year One before it was cancelled.

I think Batman: Year One project rumors happened around 2000-2002 season but I'm not sure cos I resigestered in 2003.

Those are the best 2 choices for the role. I love Bale, at times I wish Bently got a shot.

Couldn't agree with you more Whack Arnolds. I always thought Wes Bentley would be great Year One Batman. But I am perfectly happing with Bale, since he was my number choice.

Maybe Aronofsky was wanting Bale for Harvey Dent, Wes Bentley for Bruce Wayne/Batman and Aaron Eckhart for James Gordon. Of course this is just in theory. But these guys were rumored to be attached to Aronofsky's project supposedly.
