Superman Returns WB, Singer, and the Sequel

I didn't see any other interpretation of Superman besides Donner's in Superman Returns. And all of those interpretations are very old interpretations of Superman. In today's age, you do need to add in some modern interpretations such as Byrne, Timm & Dini, Waid, Morrison, etc.

See, I would say there was a very strong interpretation of Brian Azzraello's Superman in this film.

This is what Singer means by vague continuity. It's the same with the Bond films; hell, even in some ways with the Star Trek films at times.

It's vague. You're not suppose to pick the minute details out.

Vague continuity my ass. Superman Returns is the new Superman 3. It even mentions that Lex was in the Fortress of Soltude in Superman II, that Lois no longer remembers that Clark is Superman, and that Lois and Clark had sex.

Oh, for Christ's Sake.

Tell me, what would change the current sitution in Superman Returns....if SM2 is in fact not vague, but official canon.

I hated Azarello's interpretation of Superman. For Tommorrow sucked ass. And I did not see that interpretation either. It was just Donner's.

Anyway you break the kid down it doesn;t make sense

Lois and Superman have FOS sex,he wipes her memory-she has kid and is traumatized by emaculate conception or has shacked up with Richard so fast after Clark left that Richard beleives the kid is his

Lois and Superman have FOS sex and they leave out that part about him wiping her memory,She tells no one who the kid's father is and Richard wants to be with her anyway...fine she should know Clark is Superman when he returns

If you read the Superman Returns Prequel comics, Lois met Richard pretty shortly after Superman left (about a month or two) and they started dating pretty quickly. Richard and Lois just probally thought that Jason was a premature child considering how frail and sickly he appeared when you first see him (asthma spray, taking numerous medications and vitamins)

See, and I think the major flaw with X3 is that its an overload cluster**** of too many characters and too much going on.
perhaps thats what supes needs...........alot to be going on.....like V for vendetta

they certainly had the 2hrs+ for it.......

And if it was just about adding character, perhaps that'd be true. But he took the old charactesr and put them in new, more dangerous situations...that's why it was better.
he needs more than just the same stuff in another **** hole....... he needs new stuff....

god forgive me but even F4 is making the best movie it could possibly make....

On a detail as important as Superman having a son i would think things should be crystal clear in the narrative but lets look at it from a very vague stance

Superman and Lois have sex but not the FOS sex, that never happened.so then Superman leaves and she falls for Richard within a couple of weeks and is immediately prgnant, they think it's his and move in together and she doesn;t realise until Lex's yacht that the kid is in fact from the sex with Supes a few weeks prior to getting with Richard

VAGUE CONTINUITY is the most ******ed excuse ive ever heard.........

how can people have allowed it?!......

god i love nolan!!!...lol

No X-Men: The Last Stand was filled with many flaws. That is why it sucked.

The bastardization of many characters.
  1. In the comics Cyclops is a *****ebag. He left his wife and son to be with Jean Grey when she returned from the dead, and he made out with Emma Frost on TOP OF HIS WIFE'S GRAVE. He is one of the best leaders in the Marvel Universe. In the movie they made him a little b***h who was a poor leader.
  2. Having Psylocke, Multiple Man, and Spyke as villains
  3. The Juggernaunt is not a mutant and they ignore his relation with Professor X
  4. Wolverine is no leader
  5. The Sentinels as training fodder
  6. Magneto surrounding himself with Psylocke, Callipso, Pyro, Mystique, Pyro, and Phoenix instead of Sabretooth, Mystique, Pyro, Toad, and others
  7. The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity, not a mental problem contained by Professor X
  8. Beast is a scientist not a government official
Deaths
  1. Cyclops
  2. Phoenix
  3. Professor X
Missing Characters
  1. Nightcrawler
  2. Gambit
  3. Havok
  4. Quicksilver
  5. Scarlet Witch
  6. Polaris
  7. Toad
  8. Sabretooth
Characters That Had Too Much Screen Time
  1. Wolverine
  2. Storm
Characters That Had Not Enough Screen Time
  1. Cyclops
  2. Colossus
  3. Angel
  4. Magneto
  5. Shadowcat
  6. Rogue
  7. Iceman
  8. Phoenix
  9. Beast
  10. Professor X
The Blending of Too Many Storylines
  1. Gifted from Astonishing X-Men
  2. Decimation from House of M
  3. Dark Phoenix Saga
* Note: The movie should have just focused on the Dark Phoenix Saga

Stupid Things
  1. The Iceman/Shadowcat/Rogue love triangle
  2. Rogue getting depowered
  3. Magneto just ditching Mystique after she got depowered
  4. Poor dialogue

Did he? It greatly implies it...but a definative answer isn't really given.

So what. In the comics plenty of heroes are forming families.

- The Flash (Barry Allen) had the Tornado Twins, Don Allen and Dawn Allen. Don Allen had a son, the Flash (Bart Allen). Dawn Allen had a daughter, XS (Jenni Ognats)

- The Flash (Wally West) has twins, Barry West and Iris West.

- Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) has two illegitimate sons: Robert and Green Arrow (Connor Hawke). And he has Arsenal (Roy Harper) and Speedy (Mia Dearden) as his wards.

- Batman (Bruce Wayne) has an illegitimate son: Ibn al Xuffach and possibly an illegitimate daughter: Helena Dubrova. He also adopted Nightwing (Dick Grayson), the Red Hood (Jason Todd), and Robin (Tim Drake) as his sons.

- Aquaman had Koryak and Arthur Jr for sons (but were killed by the Spectre and Black Manta). He adopted Tempest (Garth) as his son.

- Metamorpho has a son, Joey Mason

- Adam Strange has a daughter, Aleea

- Animal Man has a son and a daughter, Cliff Baker and Maxine Baker

- Zatara has a daughter, Zatanna Zatara

- Black Lightning has a daughter, Thunder (Anissa Pierce)

- Arsenal has a daughter, Lian

- Tempest has a son (or daughter, depending on who writes), Ceridian

- Hawkman (Carter Hall) and Hawkwoman (Shiera Hall) has a son, Dr. Fate/Sandman/Silver Scarab (Hector Hall) who also has a son, Dream (Daniel Hall)

- Black Canary (Dinah Lance) has taken in a little girl, Sin

- Wonder Woman (Hippolyta) has two daughters, Wonder Woman (Diana) and Troia

If all these heroes, big name and no-name, can have children and even grandchildren, why can't Superman?

I find it funny how many posters on here state that EVERYTHING positive that comes out is a 'spin'. And that everything negative that comes out is the truth. Lol. And anti-SR call pro-SR bias? Lol. It's both way around. There is a middle grounds. The truth exists somewhere between these corrupt anti boards and the BT completely positive boards. It's in the middle, not one extremeity or the next. Lol.

SHH is full of haturz:supes::ghost:

I hate SHH

Everyone is open to their opinion. But, those calling everything negative "the truth" and everything positive a "spin" and then acting as though they aren't bias. Lol. That's obvious bias pov.
