I just read Atomic Robo #1 by Red 5 Comics. I really liked it...can't go wrong with a nazi-busting robot.

The company name, plus all the Star Wars related ads, made me wonder if there was a Lucas connection...

:hyper:

:wow:

:woot:

Atomic Robo was indeed a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to the next issue.

I'm surprised the Hype isn't, er, hyping this up more.

I'm not. Original ideas and the Hype are like oil and water. Most of these jackholes are too busy buying garbage out of habit to notice a colorful, legitimately funny new book from an indie publisher.

It's got Tesla built robot, for chrissakes!

What I'm saying is that I'm surprised there isn't more official support from the people running the site.

Eh...Then people would complain about special treatment.

They're not gonna make an official forum. Image or Darkhorse don't even have a forum and they've been around for years. Truth is, this is a superhero movie site, and the comic sections were pretty much an after thought.

True. It's funny, though, that the Comic Forums are the best ones.

They are. I rarely venture outside of them. When I first started I would go everywhere. Community, the Spidey forums. I got so disgusted with everywhere else I came to the one place that disgusted me the least, and that was the comic forums. It's really where the best class of people tend to hang, and the Mods leave us be for the most part. The Marvel, DC, and Misc forums is pretty much the hype for me.

Anyway, Atomic Robo came out, and I missed it. I'll grab it next week.

It's pretty awesome. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I read a lot of small press comics, and Atomic Robo has got some solid storytelling potential.

Yeah, that and the art is perfect for the story. I think the artist's name is Scott Wegener. His art's very crisp. His style's like a cleaned up version of Mignola.

I forgot all about the book, I saw a write up on it in Wizard and thought how awesome it would be.

Atomic Robo is a Tesla created, wise-cracking robot who's given a chance at full citizenship if he goes on a series of missions for the U.S. government against the Nazis.

It sells itself, basically.

My comic shop doesn't even carry these comics.
I really wanted to read atomic robo:csad:

I don't know if it sold out or not, so your shop may still be able to order it. My shop got so many copies, they were giving them away for free.

the guy who order comics at my store moved to work at a spin off store of the one I go to.
So now the lazy workers work at my store, and trying to get them to order something is like trying to get a dog to fly a plane.

I just went to Midtowncomics.com and bought the first two issues, and wouldn't you know it, Athiest #4 was out!!

What do you mean the first two issues? Tell me #2 didn't slip by me. :(

Red 5 only has five titles, one of which doesn't even begin until January. I doubt that's enough to sustain its own forum.

That's why I order my stuff online. I'm almost guaranteed a copy.
