We Need Game Like...

Yeah, I love the first and second. Gameplay was awesome, story was even better. Plus the model of Mona in the second was hot secks.

Isn't that new John Woo/Chow Yun Fat game supposed to be Max Payne-esque? I think it was called Stranglehold.

I love the Max Payne games, they deliver a fun time whenever I get around to playing 'em. Sadly, though, I've never actually completed either game but I did come close to finishing the first one. I think it was the rooftop level where you have to snipe the support cables so the big antenna or whatever would fall on the helicopter. That's the level that I always had problems with, could've been from using codes though. :o And the music is awesome.

Haha, dude, that's like the easiest part of the game. Took me a while too though.

It's not really noir though. Gameplay wise, looks like Max Payne on crack.

This seems like a great time to ask...

I played/beat/loved the first "Max Payne". Never played the 2nd though. But for a little while now, we've had "Max Payne 2" available on clearance for like $8.98 or something. I've been torn on whether I should buy it or not.

I'm not really into many shooters at all. Don't care for "Halo" or "Gears of War", or anything like that. But if it's more than just a shooter, like the "Splinter Cell" series, or "Psi-Ops", or "Prey" something like that, I'm all for it.

So my question is: should I plunge down that chump change and give it a shot?

And while I'm at it, same goes with the game "Second Sight". I LOVED "Psi-Ops" and I've been told that if I loved that, I'd love "Second Sight". I saw it at EB a couple days ago used for like $14 or something. Anyone know if that's worth it, too?

Max Payne was such an awesome game. Loved every minute of it minus the nightmares.

Can't wait for Alan Wake! :D

It has the gameplay times 10. I'm saying I want a game with that same noir, dark, gritty, twisted sense of humor feel. And wonderfully written by Sam Lake.

No. If you don't like a simple shooter you'd hate payne. There's no puzzels, no ungrading your character. You go through a game with a wonderfully written story, and use bullet time to shoot people in between the awsome story line.

I miss Max Payne.

We need a third one, to finish out the trilogy.

I thought the second actually pulled things together nicely.

But in comparison to the first game, how is it? I LOVED the first one, mostly because, as you said, there's an awesome storyline to the game. That, IMO, makes it more than a simple shooter.

I just remember hearing that MP2 was a big let-down after the first one. I guess that's what I'm asking about. How's MP2 compared to MP1?

I havent played the 2nd one, I played a bit of the first and loved it. I need to go back and finish it. Great game

The first is better. No doubt. But the second is nothing to blow off. It stands up as a great shooter, and a great story. It's written by Sam Lake (the guy who did the first game). They tie up a lot of loose ends from the first. If you enjoyed the first, I'd think you'd enjoy the second.

I see. I agree with that. We need a Max Payne 3. NOW.

Heck, if there is a third Max Payne game what would be the story be about?

That's what I'm saying. They wrapped things up pretty well in the second game. I'm actually happy with that. They can still make another game with the same noir, dark feel to it. I'm thinking Alan Wake might be a good gane. I think it's written by Same Lake.
