IMO, a great team-based book is always a better read than the best solo hero books.

Some of my favorites are --

Exiles #1 to roughly #100
entire run of The Ultimates

Over in the DC universe, I've always enjoyed the JLI run roughly #1 to #50, I always thought it was more entertaining than the contemporary more serious version of JLA with all the big hitting superheroes on the team, although JLA graphic novels, mini-series like Kingdom Come and Identity Crisis would be tops on my list.

What team-based titles do you enjoy the most? Marvel or DC? Which issues?

Of the classic Marvel teams like X-Men and Fantastic Four, which runs do you think were the best?

Any independent recommendations?

The current X-Factor series is amazing.

Fantastic Four-Waid's Run
Avengers- Busiek/Perez
X-Men- Obvious, but Claremont Byrne and I enjoyed some of the 90's Claremont stuff with Lee and Silvestri.

John Bryne Alpha Flight...hands down one of the best team books you'll ever read.

Wolfman and Perez' New Teen Titans.

I'll agree with Busiek's Avengers.
as well as Exhiles right up untill the end of the "a world apart" arc... I dont know what issue it was.

Also I'm a big fan of Whedon's Astonishing run so far.

FF: Lee/Kirby, or John Byrne. Both are, well, Fantastic! :ff:

100% agreement with that!!

Avengers (the REAL Avengers... vol 1) #150 to 200 just can't be beaten as an example of team-based storytelling.
