I remmeber being told in a forum disagreement that Superman Returns would make more money because he is bigger than Spiderman. They even said Superman would make more then Spiderman

How wrong they were

There was a chance that could've come to pass if something had actually happened in Superman Returns and it wasn't some "look at how much I love Dick Donner!" exhibition. It's not as if people that think Superman is bigger than X-men and Spider-man are crazy, because he actually is.
