....regarding font size and color?

Whenever I post in big, red letters like THIS, an admin edits my post and admonishes me. So in the interest of becoming a better poster, I'm wondering when it is acceptible to use large letters, how many large letters are allowed (per post) and what the intended purpose of including this feature was in the first place.

Also, I'm confused by the relationship between size and color.
This same admin expressed dissatisfaction with my post, not only because I used the larger sized letters, but also my choice of Red, stating that the color Red looks too "mean".
However, the last time this admin edited my "offensive" post, the admin shrunk the letters in size, but left the red color.

So it seems as if my faux pas lies in some inadvertant alchemical reaction between the size and the color, in conjunction.

Which leads to the question, would the largest letters be more acceptible in, say, a muted green, like:

"The mods here are inSANE!"​

and at which size does a font that's larger than size "2" become a viable choice when using the color red, and where is the prohibitive line drawn?

It seems a silly thing to admonish someone over, really, since we're really talking about a difference in stylistic and aesthetic taste and nothing more. If they don't want people to use big, colored text then maybe they should disable it?

depends, sometimes you guys go overboard with it especially in sigs and some of the posts really make the pages too big and those that PM using big fonts piss me off since being deaf using fonts at me make me think you are insulting me, in deaf boards using big fonts is bannable offense

While I'm sensitive to your situation, Morg, the culture on this board isn't the same as that on boards designed for a deaf community where a certain approach to visual presentation takes a very high precedence.

I very rarely say anything against the mod's, and often defend them as a matter of fact, because I understand how difficult a job it is. However, editing people's posts simply because a mod doesn't like the formatting or because they don't like the style of it amounts to censorship for no other reason than the person is simply not posting exactly like that mod thinks they should and that encroaches on people's individuality. If the actual content is offensive and warrants revision, that's one thing, but censoring people's posting style is ridiculous. I don't know who the mod might be that does that, and I really don't care, but seriously...let people be who they are. The more you push your personal beliefs on how they should post on them, the more they'll not want to do so, anyways.

I edited the stuff that was left red because it stretched my screen badly, and I thought it was a bit antagonistic towards the poster you were mocking, but I am not the one who editted the color and called it mean. If you link me to where that happened I will look into it.

Whoever took away the color and called it mean did not leave a note saying it was me I am guessing, or else they did say they were me and they were lying and I would like to know who did it, because that's pretty ****ing lame to say they were me when they aren't.

Seeing how I'm also deaf, I'll answer. Yes. I can't hear my voice when I read w/o my 3G and hearing aid, but I can still feel the vibrations.
