Many of us have seen the movie and many of us like it. But no film is perfect, so what are some things in the film.

Possible Un-tagged Spoilers Ahead

One thing I didn't like is how it seems that Harry and Fiers are picking out the S6. It wouldn't bother me if Toomes and Octavius worked at Oscorp, but I want them to have a reason to hate Spider-Man

Felicia Hardy.

More like... Felicia Hardly Does Anything (imo)! :funny:

Max Dillon, Electro just beeing a minor villain, Peter defeated Electro with a plan that came up from YT also he didn´t come up with Electro-proof webshooters Gwen out smarter him, the lenght of the clocktower fight, the plane thing was unnecesary

The Goblin fight. Wish it was longer.
Same with the Rhino fight, they either should've made it longer or not shown the whole thing in the trailers.

The level of feels produced by The Scene
was not to my liking

Doctor Kafka...

Seriously how did that get past focus groups?! Who thought he was a good idea?!

Also, I think this thread is probably more for people to be critical, not say stuff like "I hate that I loved it so much as now I can't watch other movies!"

I loved this film, in my opinion it's the best Spidey yet.
However, there were things I wish had gone differently.
The main 2 (or 3, depending how you look at it):

1) Harry Goblin was the one who played a part in Gwen's death.
I really wanted it to be Norman. I would have preferred her to die in 3.
2) It wasn't at the bridge.

That's all.

I've also read people say that the
birth of Electro is corny.
Nobody complained when they did pretty much THE SAME THING in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

- Harry being Green Goblin
- Electro's reason for wanting to kill Spider-man

Doctor Kafka...

Seriously how did that get past focus groups?! Who thought he was a good idea?!
I loved this movie, but that scene was terrible. Actually cringed watching it. I know Webb wanted to embrace the comic side of things but that was a couple massive steps to far.

uncle ben was reduced to a couple " I miss uncle ben" lines

peter cared more about capt stacy 's ghost and his parents rather than the man who not only raised him and instilled strong morals upon him, but was the catalyst for him becoming spider-man (due to peters own negligence).

he never bothered to solve or even think of uncle ben's murder.

Here's what I didn't like, pretty much from start to end.

*I didn't like how long Spider-man kept playing with Aleksei through the truck window instead of trying to stop him. A little is fine, but after a while it seemed irresponsible.
*I didn't like how Spider-man fails two times to punch through a windshield.
*I didn't like Norman's crazy finger nails.
*I didn't like how Max Dillon was so pathetic before he gets his powers and suddenly hates Spider-man for no reason. From then on he's a different person. Right around the time he starts spouting lines like 'It's my Birthday, time to light my candles."
*I didn't like the metal lyrics you could hear when Electro was on screen. It was annoying, didn't fit.
*I didn't like how Spider-man stops two people from touching an electrified bar in slow motion during the Time Square fight. He was too far away to reach them in time. It looked fake. Plus, he just saved one guy from the car, that would have been enough. He's good but he's not magic.
*I didn't like that Dr Kafka was a man. Why not just make him Dr StilWel or something?
*At the start of the power plant fight, I didn't like how Electro repelled a stream of water by shooting electricity at it.
*In the same fight, I didn't like how Electro shouts electricity on Spider-man's face. Looked fake, and weird.
*I didn't like how Green Goblin grabs the retracting blade thing in his left hand, and then somehow stabs at Spider-man with it in his right hand.

That's about all.

You know what I think could've improved Electro? Instead of making him so pathetic and unbalanced, you make him... not so much. Then, you make it so that he isn't permanently blue and glowing, but only after we has absorbed a lot of electricity. When he disperses all the electricity he's storing, he turns back to his regular color. Lastly, when Max Dillon gets his powers, being a Spider-man fanatic, he tries to become a superhero. So he puts on a green and yellow costume and goes to Time Square where he electrocutes a mugger to death. Everyone panics, Spider-man shows up, has no choice but to apprehend Electro, and there you have it, now Electro actually has a reason to hate Spider-man.

Knitpick here. But the spider symbol on the chest is too far down. :P

@matt47
I used to think like that too. It's growing on me, and I have noticed that it seems that Ultimate Spidey has the symbol lower as well. It's just not as big.

There were a few things I didnt like. As a huge fan of Zimmer, I regret to say I didnt think much of the score, I liked the score from the 1st movie better and wish they would have kept that.

Electro in the 1st half of the movie was poor, but he improved for the 2nd half.

The fight scenes, ALL of them were too short, especially the Goblin fight, that one was criminal in how short it was, especially considering what was going on in the scene.

I would have liked to see at least one flashback with Uncle Ben.

The middle of the movie got a little bit too slow, its like he tried to copy Spiderman 2 by having all of the action at the beginning and the end, with a lull in the middle, but Raimi did this much better.

Dr Kafka
Max Dillons overly crazy schizophrenia character.
Under-using Felicity Jones.
Scenes from trailers being cut
The airport sub-plot
Gwen figuring out how to Electro-proof the we shooters instead of Peter

The airport sub-plot
I think there could be something extra to that....maybe bookending the intro scene of Peter's parents gong down in the plane crash. Separate incidents, different outcomes. I don't know, just a thought.

The scenes were fine I just feel it tipped it over to edge to too much going on in the movie. Plus I hate when battles are interupted

I thought the action and fight scenes were weak, the end fight with rhino looked like it could've been good but then movie ended.

- The score
- Everything with Richard Parker because who cares one bit about Richard Parker
- The fact that Peter seems to only care about Richard Parker and not his mother (if you are going to go into his parents as a thing)
- The way Peter seems to not care at all about Uncle Ben
- Max Dillon being so cartoonish pre-Electro
- Electro getting his powers from eels.
- The music that accompanies Electro. I thought I was having auditory hallucinations
- The lack of action scenes. They really marketed that Times Square scene as a central scene but it's a whole lot of nothing. There are two fights in this film. Two. And they're both fairly sub-par. How can Webb not have come up with anything to at least challenge the fights in Spider-Man 2 (which was a decade ago).
- The Dennis Leary ghost thing that just gets kind of dropped.
- Harry Osborn being shoe-horned in as Peter's best friend. Then given one scene to sell us on that relationship.
- Harry being able to break into Ravencroft and bust Electro out.
- Whatever that scene was where Gwen is running away from Oscorp goons and they hide in a closet? So awkwardly put together
- Having "Felicia" in the movie but with no hints of her Black Cat-ness. What's the point then?
- Trying to smush together the entire Osborn vs. Spider-Man plotline into this one film. Just because we need a Goblin to be involved in Gwen's climax.
- Just because I think it's important to make this clear EVERYTHING WITH RICHARD PARKER

More to follow. I need a break.

I cared about Richard Parker. :(

I was really invested in learning about him.

Wait?? What?? Can someone explain this one?
