What do you like in your favorite comic movie director?

We're talking Nolan, Singer, etc. They all bring wonderful variety to the table.

Generally their own world view, aesthetic and personality to the character and the property.

I loved what Burton did with Batman Returns. I loved how it was a feminist statement under the guise of being a Batman film. I loved the weirdness he brought to every design or clothing.

I loved what Shane Black did with Iron Man. His talent for subverting your expectations. And I thought the Mandarin was a brilliant bit of social commentary.
