What Happened In Piedmont (Possible Movie?)

Just saw a commercial on A&E showing some water. Things flicker. Then they flash the site whathappenedinpiedmont.com. When you hit the site, it seems like a guy wondering what has happened to his sister in Piedmont, UT which does not exist. The site has lots of posts, speculating different things. Seems like a film company is up to some viral marketing to me. For my theory on this, check below.

The book The Andromeda Strain was set in Piedmont, AZ, so this could be a remake.

And the site is owned by the A&E network, which is remaking The Andromdea Strain. The original was set in Piedmont, AZ, now it seems to be Piedmont, UT.
