If I were to buy the core package at Wal-Mart and exchange my current PSP with the one in the box, could I return it for a full refund? I'm asking because it has a few scratches as usual, but mainly because it has maybe 10 dead pixels and about 4 stuck pixels in a row - rather annoying. Plus, the top of screen is crooked for some reason, and that's annoying as well. I'd call SCEA, but that's a bit of a pain in the ass, and I'm pretty sure my warranty is expired.

you wouldnt get away with it, they look at the product. than they ask how it happend. if its your fault no deal.

I suppose it was wishful thinking because the last time I returned something, they looked at it for like a second. I wouldn't say manufacturing problems such as dead and stuck pixels are my fault, but the scratches might be a give-away.

You don't think Sony would replace it if the LCD is ridden with dead/stuck pixels? Is it a matter of the warranty or what?

Oh yeah, the PSP's do't come in shrink wrapped boxes right? If not, does anyone know exactly how it's sealed?

if the pixle problem isnt your fault than its replacable. you could try your plan, but if it dosnt work than just talk to sony.

I don't think there's any warranty unless it already comes with a two year warranty ( I got it for Christmas last year from ebay).

I dunno. I suppose I'll call SCEA later on. I've got MGS:PO, MKU, GTA:VCS to play right now.
