What is your favorite DC Era?

When Wally West was the Flash
Exactly.

But more precisely, my favorite era was around Identity crisis, BEFORE Final Crisis. After Superman: Birthright : The JSA had quite a lot of members, it was great, the Outsiders and Nightwing, the Teen Titans were cool. Wally was the Flash. Green Lantern Rebirth. Batman Hush. The Omac and Maxwell Lords. Superman For Tommorrow. The Birds of Prey were amazing. They were trying to put more women in the JL. The DC Universe seemed to have some kind of logic and order ; Transforming and making things new without changing too many things. You could even enjoy small C-listers heroes who were in small teams, like Metamorpho, or Katana or Gypsy, etc...
It was like everyone had a place. I loved it even if I could not agree on everything (Aquaman Sword of Atlantis ><).

1985-2005. DC consistently put out the best superhero books on the market compared to their competition. Can't say that anymore though. The Diddio/Harras/Johns/Lee regime is going to end DC imo. When the comic industry falls apart in next decade, these guys will be partly responsible.

If this counts I would say the Earth One era. I am really loving the Earth One line. To be honest I wish that was the line they started the New 52 off with.

All the three Earth One books have been medíocre at best in my opinion, lol. If that was DC's answer to Ultimate Marvel then they failed in the plot quality department.

Ultimate Marvel is mostly terrible though. It's either a long-winded retread of the classic stories(Ultimate Spiderman) or a bastardization of the original source material(Ultimates). Why DC needs an "Ultimate line", I'll never know.

It's not surprising that current DC is so bad. They hired people that produced some of the worst comics in the 90s:

Bob Harras - 90s Marvel is probably the creative lowpoint in all of comics.

Jim Lee - the guy that epitomizes "style over substance". He helped founded a company that almost destroyed the industry with gimmicks, late books, and horrid writing.

And then you have silver age fanboys like Geoff Johns - a guy that occasionally tells good stories but also veers on the edge of fanzine wank.

It's a strange perversion. It's like they took pre-Crisis DC and threw it into a blender with 90s Image. The result is the DiDio era of DC comics.

Ultimate Spider-Man was mostly well written, while Mark Millar's Run on The Ultimates 1 and 2 was one of the best run with those characters, even if fans didn't like some of the changes they did to the characters, i don't read Ultimate Comics: Ultimates for a while but issues 1-12 were great, they turned what was a terrible twist in Ultimate Doom (Reed Richards turning bad) into a memorable and interesting villain.

Pre-Ultimates 3 Ultimate Marvel blows Earth One out of the water anytime.

Same as Marvel.

Mid to late 90's on through to Infinite Crisis....well, 52. After 52, it all fell apart. Cassie Cain went nuts, Tim Drake went nuts, Beginning of the end for Wally, Wildstorm went to s**t, just, too much. :(

I look back on what went on before that period and you got Starman, Planetary, The Authority, Rucka on Wonder Woman, Gotham Central, Cassie was awesome. Tim was Awesome, Waid's Legion, man, it was the s**t.
