Anyone else remember and have incredibly fond memories of the DC Digests that were published in the late 70's - middish 80's?
For those of you who don't know they were like Archie digests and they would reprint just about anything. "The best of" were great.
I think I'm fortunate to have read so many issues of 40's and 50's Superman as a kid. Kids today loose out on that perspective.
And value! Holy moley! $1.25 and you'd get 5 stories or so and sometimes BONUS material!
To this day I wouldn't be a Legion of Super-Heroes fan without DC Digest. Wouldn't appreciate Curt Swan if I'd never have been exposed to his art as though he were a flavor of the day artist.
Dang, I wish they'd bring 'em back.

I have one of those! It has Donna's wedding!:D

I remeber GREAT DC stories reprinted in those things like the one about Collosal Boy betraying the Legion. The original Superman Red/Superman Blue story (which was better than the redux they did). A killer Neal Adams Batman/Two-Face story.
See, where I grew up you couldn't actually buy comics from month to month. The grocery store magazine stand was it for me and all they had were digests.
So really, as far as I knew Dick Sprang was a new artist. Imagine turning the page and seeing Neal Adams for the first time. Instantly skipping 20 years of artistic and stylistic evolution.
POW!
