I've read plenty of threads asking what comics, TV shows, video games, and novels would make good movies. Now I want to go the other direction and see what movies, TV shows, etc would make good comic series. My choices?

TV SHOWS

1) Thundarr The Barbarian

2) Dungeons & Dragons

3) Dexter

NOVELS

1) The Lord Of The Rings (okay, that would be more of a graphic novel than a monthly series)

2) The Hobbit (another graphic novel)

MOVIES

1) The Beast Master

2) The Lord Of The Rings

3) The Hobbit

That's all I can think of right now. Think of some of your own (specifically ones that have never been done before).

Veronica Mars
Pushing Daisies

Supernatural

The Trailer Park Boys

Emanuelle

The Harry Potter novels would translate very well into comic book form. They would have to be graphic novels of course.

The Dungeons & Dragons movies would also translate well. They'd be able to add in any scenes that were cut from the movies.

Pirates Of The Carribean

The continued adventures of Cpt Jack Sparrow would make for a very exciting and entertaining series.

Veronica mars
Gremlins
Goonies
Trailer park boys
Leperachaun (a GOOD one)
Slither
The Wonder Years
Small wonder
Different strokes
Wonder Showzen
Thundercats
Silverhawks
Bionic 6
He-man

Veronica mars
Never watched this show, so I have no comment.
GOOD ONE!
Just a comic adaptation of the movie or an ongoing series? Either way, nice choice.
Trailer park boys
As I already suggested this, I agree.
Leperachaun (a GOOD one)
Nice!
Never saw this movie, but I suppose so.
The Wonder Years
As a comic book? Maybe.
Small wonder
Never heard of it. I guess.
Different strokes

Wonder Showzen
Never seen it, so I have no comment.
Thundercats
Never actually seen this show, but I've heard a lot about it. To be honest I'm surprised it hasn't been made into a comic yet.
Silverhawks
Never heard of it, so I have no comment.
Never heard of Bionic 6 so I have no comment.
He-Man did have a comic years ago, it was cancelled. But you're right, it should be made a comic again. Personally, I'd make it like the mini comics that originally came with the action figures.

Twin Peaks
Written by David Lynch and Grant Morrison
Art by Bill Sienkiewicz

So many unanswered question left. Comics would be the perfect medium to continue the story. Most of Morrison's works contain the same themes that can be found Lynch's works.

Venture Bros.
Written by Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick
Art by a who's who of comic book artists

Something tide things over from season to season. Mini series, graphic novels, whatever and it featuring many different artist who are the best in the business.

i thought they were going to make those?
And they were supposed to make a comic of Veronica Mars too.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm so glad you commented on every single one of those. My life now feels so enriched now that I know you have no comment when it comes to a Bionic 6 and Silverhawks comics.

Would you rather I lie and say they would make great comics? Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. If I've never seen the source material, how can I make a judgement?

Marvel used to have an A-Team comic that didn't last very long (only two issues I think). I'd love to see them bring that comic back.

The Six Billion Dollar Man

The Planet Of The Apes

The Bionic Woman

Jake 2.0

The Matrix

The Dukes Of Hazzard

Only if they steal the tech from Hallmark so whenever you open it the theme plays.

V: The Series

The original miniseries starring Marc Singer not the new series that's going to be starting soon.

The Princess Bride would make a great graphic novel IMO.

Great choice.

I read once that the idea for Venture Bros. was originally conceived as a comic but ended up a TV show.

In terms of TV shows, I'd like to see those comics of Jonny Quest and The Herculoids that DC was planning to follow up their Space Ghost mini with.

As for movies, for lack of a fourth film, I wouldn't mind someone doing a new Back To The Future comic - not like the one that came out for the cartoon, but one more in the vein of the movies themselves.

Johnny Quest & The Herculoids? Good one!

I'd like to see a more adult comic book adaptation of the Conan movies. I know the comics came out first (and the short stories before them), and that there already was a comic adaptation of the movie. But it was done by Marvel who, in those days, made a point of making all their comics kid friendly. This version would have Conan and the women actually naked during the love scenes, etc.

Warehouse 13

Power Rangers (with a slightly more serious spin and teams made up just for the comics...maybe just called "Rangers".)

An ongoing Nolan style Batman comic (perhaps Goyer could write?)

Ben 10

An ongoing Ghostbusters comic (this 4 issue miniseries stuff has to stop. There's no reason GB stories can't just keep going).

An american made Gundam comic with different stories then any of the animations or manga might be cool to see.

I'm sure I've got more, but I can't think of any right now...
