What next for the WWE, does it have a reason to exist?

It was clearly a joke . jeez guys.

How well is the "wellness" programme working? Batista sure looks clean......
no, he really doesn't.........

Some people are taking some positive steps. But, just like Hollywood's drug problems, I don't expect this to be an instant success.

Former WWE and TNA star "Razor Ramon" Scott Hall has apparently taken up WWE's rehab offer. Apparently, Hall had a recent breakdown in Puerto Rico. He then decided to take up WWE's offer. Hall is staying at the same rehab center former WWE star Jake "The Snake" Roberts is currently situated at, which is in Atlanta. For those wondering, Roberts is currently nine weeks into his fourteen-week stay at the facility and is said to be doing much better.

Also, if you're wondering where Ron 'Farooq' Simmons has been in recent weeks, well, he recently took up WWE's rehab offer as well according to Dave Meltzer. Simmons is currently staying at a rehab center in Atlanta (I believe it's the same facility that Hall and Roberts are currently at). Simmons was last seen on television at the 12/29 RAW taping in Greensboro in a "Happy New Year's" vignette with Jillian Hall.

I say good luck to all those guys , It's sad to hear they are back there but at least they are trying.

I think you miss the point, those guys are at the tail end of their careers.

When I hear Batista is in rehab, see him come out and wrestle at 240 pounds, then, i'll know the WWE are serious.

It seems all professional wrestlers end up bitter and broken, mentally and physically.

I think a part of that comes from the fact that alot of these guys dont know how to do anything else. I watched a Real Sports segment where they interviewed Marcus "Buff" Bagwell and they asked him why does he keep doing it, even with his neck and back injuries.....and his response was he started wrestling at 17, never had a job, and doesnt know anything else.....look at guys like John Layfield, the Rock, they have other avenues that they are pursuing outside of wrestling......

You do so work for the WWE.

I used to think Hall was nothing but a drunk and basically a ****-up until I watched his RF Shoot...He actually started crying when they talked about Benoit and was pretty open about all his drug/alcohol problems. He seems like a decent guy.

i just bought up another side of the argument.....the reason I used marcus bagwell is because he has been wrestling for 15 plus years and out of all that time only worked for the wwe 1 month.....a majority of his career was spent in wcw, japan, and various independent promotions.....I agree with the previous post about how most wrestlers do end up broken down, mentally, physically and all that.....but look at Trish stratus, she walked away 2 years ago and is successful up in Canada, with a yoga/fitness place.....but for everyone one success story like that, there are 10 guys who die broke, near to broke. the military has programs to help their personnel with transition back to civilian life....maybe wrestling could do something similar....and note I said A PART OF THAT....I wasnt using that as the whole reason......Im simply presenting another side to the conversation...

That's why the problems that pro wrestling faces are more complex than the steroid-obsessed media reports. It wasn't that long ago that similar things were happening with pro sports. Guys would walk away from the NFL or NBA with bad backs and bad knees, having never planned for the future. It wasn't uncommon to hear stories about players having blown fortunes, living in sub-standard conditions with no idea how to turn their lives around. Now the leagues have programs that try to prevent this.
Pro wrestling may be finally waking up to the truth that it needs many changes: standardized drug testing, more planned time off, personal and financial counseling programs. Of course, the media was blind to this after the Benoit tragedy and they remain so. I haven't seen one mainstream outlet report the recent rehab admissions of Hall, Roberts, and Simmons. If the story doesn't involve the hot topic of the moment, steriods, they have little interest. :cmad:

The most recognisable WWE wrestlers are all obviously users with the exception (perhaps) of the undertaker.

Cena, Batista, HHH etc.

The message is clear from the WWE.

Since his return from his knee injury, Trips is actually looking alot leaner and less roided out than he previously did.

Nah, he's just using more viramone and winstrol and less Sustanon and Oxybolin!

Not ALL. Guys like Rhodes, Dibiase, Nash, Slaughter and Steamboat are doing fine (just ones that immediately come to mind). It's an individuals choice if they decide to take certain paths in life and fall to certain demons. People can't blame professional wrestling or Vince McMahon. It's a lifestyle that these people choose to live.

Um...yeah...the wrestling world and the world in general has enough problems with people actually testing positive for drugs without you coming along with haterized theories.

I saw that, quite sad on Buff's part.

1. Pro wrestling is a job like any other, and with that is a work schedule...you dont like it...QUIT
--Good point. Still, I think the show's would be better served if they weren't flooding the market.

2.
as far as managers, its a cost issue.....why have to pay for 1 guy to wrestle and 1 guy to talk when you can just find a wrestler that can talk for himself??
--In Vince's wallet, I imagine a manager would only be
slightly above minimum wage. Paul Heyman, Eric
Bischoff, Ric Flair, and maybe even Vince would be
some good choices.

4. The fans will not accept a name change this far into his career.....as long as he is around you will see HHH signs in the crowd
--I know it WON'T happen but it really should. A 45 year
old man calling himself Triple H is more ridiculous
than a 45 year old man calling himself Sting.

It's really not that hard to see. But yeah, a month off would be needed. Of course the fan base would be ****ing going ballistic over it, then again it's the same fan base that really doesn't care if a wrestler uses HGH or steroids, as long as they look their best.

Still - MLB has 3-4 months off, NFL has 5-6 months, NBA gets 3-4 months, and the NHL receives 3-4 months too.

These guys argueably have the toughest job AND tougher travel schedule.

why would they change HHHs name? He's one of the most over people. It would like bringing back Stone Cold but calling him John Gray or something. People would just be like "what the f**k?"

I think there is a way he could pull off changing his
name and image a bit to Hunter Helmsly.

His gimmick: "I'M NOT PLAYING THE GAME ANYMORE! I AM THE HUNTER!! AND YOU, JOHN CENA, ARE THE HUNTED!!! I AM HUNTER HELMSLY!!!

HHH is def not as big as he used to be and it nowhere near getting that big again.
