What next for the WWE, does it have a reason to exist?

I see your point.
I find myself suspending belief big time when I watch wrestling, which is why I can defend it. Some people can, some people can't, I guess.

You must have me confused with another person. You said that wrestlers look ridiculous, and said that it'd be no different than seeing Batman or Spider-Man. I never compared them how you just did. I only compared how ridiculous they look.

Alright, that's your opinion, but I can respect that.
What you said sounded very genuine, and I can't argue against that.

I'm glad that we aren't hostile, and I am sorry for seeming hostile to prove a point. Hopefully, we bury that hatchet between us?

Well I'm sorry for sounding hostile as well. I tend to get real fired up when I debate, and a while ago while thinking about it, I thought about the people that I know who watch it, and most of them do not appear stupid to me actually. It seems to me though that the really big die hard fans who like live for it come off as kind of dumb though, like my cousin who thinks it's real. I'm just saying that so I dont' seem like I'm pretending to cuddle up to the beast or anything.

I actually did watch wrestling as a kid. I tried to give it a chance when Hulk Hogan came back, but I just cringed at it, watching him shake his head back and forth when he got hit in the head, and I just threw my hands at it, and couldn't watch it.

I'd rather watch an actual Soap Opera than wrestling, at least they have some VAGUE resemblance of talent. :o

WWE is ******ed, and from what I've met, so are the audience who watches it at home.

Some people feel that comic books and comic book films are also entertainment for troglodytes. They are wrong as well.

Not our fault you associate yourself with idiots.
Is so. :o:oldrazz:

I'm not against wrestling, but WWE is ******ed. I never thought Entertainement Wrestling was stupid until they tried making storylines from it. They're trying to add depth and complexities when it's ridiculous.

Again, there are people that feel the same about comics. I've heard many people say that comic books will never be more than garish entertainment for children and the adults that enjoy them are too lowbrow to enjoy true art like Othello. I don't hold this POV but it's out there.

Then don't watch it...not seeing the problem here. It's not your cup of tea, WWE makes a billion a year so obviously a lot of ppl disagree with you. Let me guess tho, you'll say their all stupid as you did before, because obviously only you have good taste in what entertainment is. Face it, everyone is entertained by different things, and unless you're watching teletubbies, you're not stupid for enjoying whatever entertains you. Love all the entertainment nazi's pooring out of the woodworks here with a high horse stance.

I'm not trying to be hostile, or rude either, but this is just freakin' rediculous.

I don't watch it, but just because I don't watch it doesn't mean I can't hav an opinion on it. I did catch an episode here and there before the whole merge between WWF and whatever the other one was, I even caught one or two episodes after the merge, and noticed how ridiculously stupid it became.
I'm not one of those haters who though it's always been such shyitty entertainment, it did used to be entertaining, now it's just annoying.

Ridiculous.

My problem has never been with people who don't like wrestling. That boils down to personal taste. My problem is with people like the cantankerous Phil Mushnick who wish for it's demise based on some misguided moral crusade. Their logic is always flawed.

Arguing about pro-wrestling really brings out the stupid in people. I've never heard more uninformed generalizations in my life.

He calms down, realizes what he's done. Loses it emotionally, can't believe what he's done. His son has had a challenging life and apparently the two fought about how to take care of him. Now Daniel has lost his mom and will lose his father to prison. Who is going to raise this special needs child?

In his current messed up state he believes the only option is to smother his son, probably in his sleep. Benoit didn't shoot him with a gun or stab him or slit his throat or beat him to death with something heavy (same deal with his wife). His son is mentally ******ed and and has a developmental disability, so in Benoit's eyes its a mercy killing. Does not make it right at all.

Benoit isn't going to snap, kill his wife and then 24 hours later still be in a rage and kill his son for no reason. So his son is dead and he plans on killing himself.

Sends the texts messages to Chavo and a few others, so someone will eventually come but not right away and perhaps stop him from killing himself. Its very early in the morning so they're going to be asleep. He places the bibles because of the guilt that has eaten him up and then goes downstairs to his weight room. He mans up, sets up the machine and kills himself.

He had to be in some sort of burnt out-stressed out-paranoid rage to kill his wife. You don't wake up and decide, you know I feel like killing me wife later today. He unhinges, loses it and kills her. Feels guilt and now can't fathom the life his young son will live or Benoit himself living for the next 30 odd years in prison knowing why he was sent there. In his weakened state he does what he believes he must do. He was religious so he knows he's going to hell to be punished.

My vote for the most dramatically incorrect statement out of everything in this thread.

Of course you have the right to have an opinion, whether you've ever watched it or not. But like Colossal Spoons said, so many generalizations from ppl who have never watched wrestling, or maybe 1-2 episodes half paying attention at most.

I don't care if I was the only person on the planet that watched wrestling, things like ROH are great promotions and highly entertaining and I'd watch no matter what the mass said. My problem comes from it being open season on the Hype on all wrestling fans, wrestling itself, and mocking the Benoit deaths since they happened. It's one of those faith in humanity failing moments, seeing tragic deaths being treated like jokes, and realizing that's becoming the norm in society.

No one has to like what someone else likes, it just sucks that respecting someone else's opinion or ability to enjoy something they don't seems to be a thing of the past anymore.

Oh I'm very secure in my sexuality. Its just when I watch wrestling I tend to lose that security. Samething happens when I enter one of them public shower things...

Hahaha. It's okay dude. We wont judge you.

Then why do they break so many records?

My opinion is because comics are the modern incarnation of the old mythos of the gods in antiquity. They are idealism presented in a sensational but palatable manner. The opinion of the older anti-comics crowd is that it's the entertainment for the unwashed masses. Those same masses enable comic books to break records in the same fashion that WWF/E has set past attendance and PPV records.

So most intelligent people agree the WWE is ludicrous and it's adult fans are ******s, nice to know. My faith in humanity is restored.

:whatever: So you base the majority of the intelligent world on the uninformed cache of ignorant children on this message board?

 Good Job.

o_O.

Most the posters here are over 20 some past their 30s-40s. Try again Army. :o

Somebody explain to me how I am a "******". You chose that word/phrase over "wasting their time" or "clearly bored". I just don't get it.

Age has nothing to do with me using the word "Children" in this thread. How about you stop assuming and -try- to learn the meaning of contextual use of certain words. :o

You new gen Hypesters. I swear.

I feel like I'm surrounded by ignorance. If there's something I don't like; I'd be more than willing to say "I don't like this; and I hope the people that do, enjoy it". Like NASCAR, I think it's one of the dumbest pasttimes in the history of mankind. I'd never call all its fans "******s" or "gay" though. What are we, in 3rd grade?

Don't go trying to insult me, just because I don't share your opinion that watching sweaty men in tights badly out act rivalaries and storylines is ''AWESOME'" and ''OMG!1111 THE ****!" :o

Now I do agree, but there's no need to act someone who doesn't like it either. :cwink:

I also agree that Nascar is stupid too. Jeff Dunham said it best through one of his puppets in a stand up act...all it is a left run after a left turn...one big circle.
