Not on the audience's side. Bye, and good riddance to bad garbage
HELLBOY (2019) Quality = I'm not trying to tell you there's any, cause there is none
Joy = 1.5/10
This movie is manure, and like Biff Tanin, I hate manure.
There are some funny bits with Ian McShane chewing the scenery and the narration, and some funny bits with Queen Nimue screaming, but after that it becomes and ugly mess that is mostly unpleasant to look at, and is not nearly as unintentionally funny as I hoped it would be.
I have not watched Dark Phoenix yet, but I will assume this is worse than that movie, much worse.
Quite possibly the most moving film I've seen all year. The movie is essentially a portrait of a community that fell by the wayside and the struggle of finding a home and a sense of belonging. It's all poetically well done by Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, and shot beautifully by the director Joe Talbot. I dug how the movie and even the music has a very blues tone to it throughout. While it's got a very distinctive style and tone, some of it does remind me of If Beale Street Could Talk and Be Kind and Rewind. The performances is what really holds this movie together and it's incredible that Jimmie Fails never acted before. Overall, it's by far one of the best movies of the year. 9.5/10
