John Wick

I like the first John Wick film the best. It's the most straight forward of the trilogy. The other films start to ramble on about the High Table and the action goes on endlessly. This one is quick, crisp and efficient.
It's a shame that you don't find the action entertaining for what characters mean to each other in the duration and the charm of it all in the sequels. I'm a bigger fan of the sequels than I am of the first one, which I really like, but not enough to love.

Superman: The Movie Special Edition

Time to upgrade to bluray finally.
That's the version that tells us the girl in the train passing through Smallville is Lois Lane, right? That is a charming little scene, but I don't mind it being removed from the theatrical release.

Jupiter Ascending. Took me a long time to get around to this and it was nothing like I had thought it was all this time. I enjoyed it (great visuals) but not sure how often I’d rewatch it.

THE BRAVEST.....Chinese firefighters against a massive oil refinery fire. If you like explosions, fire, and people flying through the air, this is for you.

Yeah, it's probably the only bit in the film I find unnecessary. I want to see the 3 hour Television Version and see what they added to that. That's on the top of my to buy list, but so is the theatrical cut since I haven't seen that since I upgraded from VHS to DVD 2 decades ago.

JOY = 10/10

Some of this films ingredients should make me hate it. The title character is unlikable for the most parts and is almost useless, and it's an adaption that defecates over the character it presents, also... events fold and are presented in an uneven way.

But it's weird to look at the meth lab guy and think that was John Connor in one of the two Terminator movies that matter, and it's the movie that introduced me to the awesome actor known as Christoph Waltz, I loved what he did here so much that I watched movies he's in mostly for his involvement.
At least he's been in a good comic book movie with Alita.

I enjoy the action in all John Wick films but I don't like the world of those movies. Which is a shame because I've seen a few interviews of the creators of John Wick franchise and they seemed really proud of their world-building. The first film already had the hotel that acts as a neutral zone for criminals but other than that it didn't get overly silly or complicated.
