"What's goin' on?" and other 90's altrock music fun

Seriously. 1996 was like the last great year for music it all went downhill after that. Here's some songs that really bring me back to that time:

Soundgarden-Black Hole Sun

Smashing Pumpkins-1979

Alanis Morrissette-You Oughta Know

Oasis-Wonderwall
[YT]FAPtTS0TYtU[/YT]

Pearl Jam-Alive

We need to hang out. Completely.

Butthole Surfers - The Lord is a Monkey

 These nineties threads make me nostalgic about my childhood. :csad:

Likewise.

There was an album released a while back, called "Punk goes 90s", that had a decent selection of tunes.

1. "March of the Pigs" (Nine Inch Nails) - Mae
2. "Song 2" (Blur) - Plain White T's
3. "Under the Bridge" (Red Hot Chili Peppers) - Gym Class Heroes
4. "Black Hole Sun" (Soundgarden) - Copeland
5. "Hey Jealousy" (Gin Blossoms) - Hit The Lights
6. "All I Want" (Toad The Wet Sprocket) - Emery
7. "Losing My Religion" (R.E.M.) - Scary Kids Scaring Kids
8. "Wonderwall" (Oasis) - Cartel
9. "You Oughta Know" (Alanis Morissette) - The Killing Moon
10. "Stars" (Hum) - Bleeding Through
11. "Enjoy the Silence" (Depeche Mode) - Anberlin
12. "The Beautiful People" (Marilyn Manson) - Eighteen Visions
13. "Big Time Sensuality" (Björk) - The Starting Line
14. "In Bloom" (Nirvana) - So They Say
15. "Jumper" (Third Eye Blind) - BEDlight for BlueEYES (featuring Sebastian Davin of Dropping Daylight)

A lot of the covers weren't too bad. My specific faves were tracks 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9. I'd add track 3, but it does this weird pseudo hiphop thing that I don't like.

Despite the fact that none of those bands are punk...a few songs look worth buying. Dropping Daylight is a good band.

I want to namedrop the most criminally underappreciated band of the 90's....

INTO ANOTHER

Geez...these guys were good. They fit in nicely with Grunge, but Grunge fans didnt like them. Also, as the band was started by members of Youth Of Today a very influential straight edge hardcore band. Into Another were softer, more mainstream, and I have a feeling that they helped influence a lot of the Emo stuff that came later. Im not the worlds biggest emo 9or hardcore) fan...but the fact that this band has essentially been overlooked in the history of it makes me sad...like an emo kid...you see how that works?
