Now that Sam Raimi has been fired (or quited) from the Spider-Man franchise he can move forward with those other projects he's been attached to.

The first one is The Shadow. Raimi wanted to adapt the pulp hero back in the late `80s but the studios felt that he wasn't enough of a name to tackle such a high-profile movie. So, he created his own hero instead. Darkman. The Shadow was eventually made in 1994 with the director from Highlander and Alec Baldwin in the lead role. In 2006, Raimi bought the rights to the character.

The second one is a re-launch of the Jack Ryan franchise. Around 2007 or 2008, he was hired by Paramount with George Clooney attached to star at one point.

Finally, there's World of Warcraft. Raimi, apparently, was in the running to direct The Hobbit but was passed in favor of Guillermo Del Toro. So, last year he became attached to develop this film instead.

The Shadow would be my choice, but World of Warcraft makes the most sense.

I'm going with World of Warcraft.

Yep, he should do World of Warcraft.

i think Horror is the way to go. I dug Drag me to Hell quite a bit more than Spider-man 3. And World of Warcraft... I don't even think that is a good idea at all.

Jack Ryan will be reboot with Chris Pine, and I haven't heard anything about Raimi being attached as the director. So I think World of Warcraft is probably his next big project.

Sequel to Army of Darkness!

Though Liam Neeson is fairly hot right now, a return to Darkman could be a good idea if he could get him back.

However, I'm hoping that Sony's attempts to reboot Spidey turn out like WB's attempts to do SR2/Reboot Superman with one failed attempt after another forcing Sony to crawl back to Raimi and allowing him to make SM4 on his own terms.

i voted for The Shadow. I'm just getting into the character, having gotten several books for Christmas and i absolutely love it. With Shane Black apparently writing a Doc Savage movie, if Raimi can get something going with The Shadow it would be an awesome one-two punch the year both films come out.

Warcraft seems like a really bad idea. If not the Shadow, definitely go the horror route.

But I just think turning games into films, especially incredibly layered and expansive games like Warcraft, are very appealing. Something gets shortchanged.

Sam just needs to go back and do a couple more Horror films, and take a breath from the Superhero Genre.

But all in all, if he wanted to do a sequel to Darkman...

Honestly, being a huge Evil Dead fan who previously was wanting a fourth film years ago...I think it's too late. The hype and demand for it with the fanbase is too large and I'm positive that it won't live up to everyone's expectations. I could be wrong of course but I have little to no interest in it.

Darkman is kind of done with. Do we really need another? I own and enjoy the first film but I'm not sure if the character is popular enough to get an actual theatrical release.

A sequel to Darkman (starring Liam in Two-face style digital prosthetics instead of the full head appliance he had to work with) would be fun though, and that's what I enjoyed from Sam's earlier films. maybe that is why Drag me to Hell resonated so well with me.

I dunno. It may not live up to expectations but that doesn't mean it couldn't be great.

I know its a long shot but I think after Liam Neeson's recent boost in popularity, as well as superheroes being a hit now-a-days, plus Raimi's mainstream success, if he could get Neeson attached he could get a studio to back a proper sequel.

World of Warcraft? The game? :barf:

Do more horror flicks. Or something new.

If he Raimi were to ever make a fourth film I would ignore most of the hype just so I don't get overhyped myself. At first I was thinking Bruce Campbell would need to lose some of that fat he's gained over the years but it would actually fit the character after all these years. Ash never was your typical hero, he was badass but also a bumbling fool who gets his ass kicked quite a bit.

I won't lie, with Neeson back in the role I would be tempted to see it. I just wouldn't want Raimi to have a financial/commercial flop on his hands to set him back.

I guess the answer is World of Warcraft:

This movie would be pretty insane just for these reasons alone.

"It’s hard to imagine just what to expect from a WOW movie, as the series is packing full of so much mythology it would make STAR WARS blush, and when thinking of a film adaptation, it’s hard to imagine anything else but LORD OF THE RINGS pumped full of adrenaline where battles like Gandalf vs. the Balrog happen every ten minutes."

I posted this once when I read that Spider-Man will be rebooted. And now that Raimi seems to be officially working on World of Warcraft, I'll post it again. :awesome:

But it's a high-profile film and he could use its success to shove it in Sony's face.

Doubly so if the WB and Legendary allow him creative input and "final cut" on the first film.

I voted for the Shadow because I like the character. I'm a huge Clancy fan but I dont' see him as the director, I don't play video games so I can't really speak on Warcraft, and it's not like he hasnt done horror recently.

Right now I'm watching Sam ruin Terry Goodkind's books while using it as a platform to try out new filming techniques that seem to be used quite heavily in his upcoming Spartacus.

don't bring that **** in here. you got your hate thread.

He most probably does WOW next. Though I would like to see him do more horror.

LOL....he's very touchy. Spidey is DEAD! Move on! It's over! And thank the lord. Raimi deserves to be left alone!

There might be no Spidey done by Raimi, but I'm really glad that he will be doing World of Warcraft. I think he's really suited for that crazy world. I'm already looking forward to see what he'll do with the Orks and the Undead.
