What's the best 12" Batman action figure out there?

Maybe the headsculpts and harness, but that's about it, since the size of the grapple gun and batarangs are inaccurate aswell as the suit itself, the cape is cheaply sewn and isn't accurate, the body looks like that of a teenage boy, the belt droops too low, the feet look dopey since they're two seperate pieces when they should be one, plus, the suit is made out of some kind of rubber that attracts dust like crazy and probably won't last very long either. The Hot Toys version is a hell of a lot better. Cape, armor, batarangs and gun are accurate, plus you still get a lot articulation even though the cowl is one piece and the armor is made from higher quality plastic.

In the end the Takara gave me more of what I wanted:

... you won't get that from either the Medicom or HT versions.

* the DC Direct version can be dismissed without further consideration

As everyone has already said the Takara, it's really going up in price on Ebay but it really is a thing of beauty.

For the money ... I'd say the Batman Begins Action Cape. Though I'm biased. Takara is great ... but those things are still in excess of $200 for a toy. I mean, c'mon ...

That's actually a very fair assessment... as I've said in the past:

"If price is your main factor and all you want is something that looks good up on a shelf then the Mattel Action Cape Batman is a viable option and that if ‘best buy’ is your prime determinant then one must consider the Mattel as the better option."
