Note that I'm asking for single issues, not story arcs or events(to prevent a lot of DPS or AoA responses).

I'm re-reading old comics, so I'll have to post mine once I've gotten through enough to find one I really like.

I tried the Preacher series. It turned into typical Ennis garbage after the first few issues. The part with his grand-mother was pretty cool though.

hmmm...maybe X-men #70 (volume 2). That was the issue that got me into collecting. The art was amazing. Pacheco's layous were simply beautiful. It was the start of a new era for the team with the old members returning, the new members joining and all banning together to help Jean save Scott. It was a nice ensemble issue. In that we also got the return of Juggernaut. The issue was flawless to me. Loved it

X-Men Fairy Tales Issue #4.

Loved the writing, loved the art.

I liked that one before I got sick of Romy.

Gambit actually looked cool in that one(reminded me of Spike Spiegel). Bishop rocked that suit.

Indeed! Again, I loved the art.

YESH! Spike/Gambit = LOVE, without the poofy hair. Two of my favorite-est things combined.

I love that they didn't go out and out ROMY with it. It's very open-ended. One kiss, and that was it. They totally held back.

After some re-reading, I've found my favorite issue. Uncanny 273, with the infamous fight between Logan and Gambit. I like it, not because Gambit won, but because of the guile and forethought Gambit showed in this issue: he had cased the X-mansion and the X-men themselves well enough that he was able to program the Danger Room into displaying one of Logan's worst enemies, allowing his to get the drop on the Canucklehead.

"Bang. You dead."

If Remy was still written like this, instead of the pantywaist he is, I might still have been able to stand the guy.

That whole arc was great, from 273-277. The best written Gambit as well. Suspicious as all hell, but still had a 'heroic' moment or two and keep you guessing.

And he took out Gladiator.

Kitty's Fairy Tale. Uncanny 153, I believe. Who could not love Pirate Kitty, the Bamfs, the Fiend with No Name, and the original Lockheed the dragon?

Its a toss up, but Uncanny #207 just rocked. I loved the whole Wolvie vs Marauders thing....so cool.

^Kitty's Fairy Tale was so cool also. Good stuff.

Everyone raves about how great that stuff is, but it isn't really my cup of tea either. And I liked Sin City.

Anyway, would God Loves, Man Kills count? If you're talking an issue of Uncanny, then I might have to pick something from Mutant Massacre or maybe even issue 201, when Storm manages to defeat Cyke. I didn't really like Storm until that issue.

My favorite single issue right now may be the Sinestro Corps War Special. I really enjoyed that, but that is like a double issue... so maybe it doesn't count.

I think I really liked Ultimates 2 issue 9. The first time I read it, I was like what is this? But then I read it again... and again... and again. It was amazing.

I'm really surprised that no one mentioned "Deadly Genesis"

a) It's a limited, not a single issue

b) all 6 issues of it sucked :p
