There’s been a lot of comic book movies over the years, and quite a lot of them have either post-credit or just scenes in general that tease the future of what’s to come so I ask the hype what’s your favorite post-credit/mid-credit or just a scene in general in a comic book film that teases or forshadows things to come:

For my money:

Batman Begins (2005) - Joker card reveal:

The Avengers (2012) - Thanos Tease:

Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - Captain Marvel tease:

Captain Marvel (2018) - “Where’s Fury?”

batman begins joker card at the end is probably still the best cbm ending tease, imo.
it gave you a hint of what's to come but let your imagination run wild because they did not really reveal much either.

Good question this, I really need to think about the answer though.

The best one is definitely this: (No, not Vulture but I can't find a video of just the Captain America part, so fast forward through Vulture.)

This is second:

And third:

The original Avengers end-credits scene is also great and the dancing baby Groot in GotG. The Apocalypse tease in DoFP gave me chills in the theater, but if I hadn't been literally starving for an X-men film about someone other than Magneto I doubt it would've had that effect since it's really kind of ugly (great sound design, though). It's also hard to rate it much in hindsight given how crap X-Men Apocalypse actually was.

Magneto and the Professor surprising the Wolverine at the airport.

The Mjolnir in Iron Man 2.

Unpopular opinion, but the Joker card scene in BB didn’t do much for me. Don’t get me wrong; I love the film. But when it happened, I was just kinda like, “Yeah okay. That makes sense. Nice nod to Year One.” I was honestly kinda surprised to hear that people really lost their minds over that.

The ending of X2.

Jean Grey recites Xavier’s opening monologue from X-Men as a Phoenix appears under the water. Cue John Ottman’s theme:

I wasn’t. The tease was hinting at the existence of Batman’s super iconic archenemy in that world and you also have to bear in mind, at the time it had been quite awhile since we had the last cinematic Joker in 1989. And I don’t think Joker was as played out in media in 2005 as he is now. Nowadays since we’re sort of saturated with Joker content, what with now having two live action iterations of Joker co-existing(Phoenix/Keoghan) if the DCU Batman does a Joker tease, most will react with indifference and at least mild amusement.

I hadn't read Year One yet when I first saw Batman Begins so I didn't know there'd be a Joker tease but as @Detective Conan said, it had been 16 years since we had seen the last Joker on the big screen in 2005. It was quite a difference from today since there were crickets in my opening night crowd of The Batman when Joker made a cameo at the end. The character has been played out a lot recently.

X2 came out during a time where I still wasn't shy about spoiling movies by reading the novelization/comic book adaptation before seeing them. Jean's sacrifice and the Phoenix tease was completely left out of the X2 tie-in novels and comics so this was a complete shock to me.

Such a surprise. I still remember having to explain to all my friends what that meant as we left the theater twenty years ago. It felt like, for me, an actual ‘insider’ nod to the fandom. I was a literal kid seeing that movie—X2 really set me on the comic book fanboy path lol.

Most people here mentioned the good ones but I want to throw in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I know they confirmed Olsen and Johnson in 2013 for AOU in 2015, but it was like less than a half a year later before we saw them at the end of TWS.

That one's still in my top 5 MCU credit scenes. It was a great tease for Pietro and Wanda and it also got me really hyped for AOU more than a year out.
