When have Marvel heroes overthrown governments?

Okay, here's my question: When, in stories set in "the regular continuity" (not "Exiles" alternate timelines or "What If?" issues), have Marvel superheroes played an important role in overthrowing a national government?

Or something larger than a national government, such as the government of another planet, or the leadership of a Galactic Empire with zillions of inhabited planets, or whatever?

I have been working on a parody-piece about a bunch of superheroes arguing about the ethics of such things, and I found myself thinking of plenty of interesting examples from DCU continuity, but not many popped into my head from MU continuity. I want to do a more "balanced" treatment of the subject by being equally unfair to both company's heroes at once! Any help I can get will be appreciated! :)

Squadron Supreme took over the whole world, actually...oh bah, just read your subtext. That was an alternate dimension.

Black Adam took over a country over at DC. Magneto was the ruler of Genosha.

didn't the FF take over Latveria after Reed sent Doom to hell? Towards the end of Waids run and before the Thing went to heaven? I think so

The New Warriors, The Hulk and Rick Jones helped to overthrow a countries leader

Rick smoked him with a Mandroid armor!

Yeah, I admit I thought of that one too, and I was sorely tempted to use it, but finally decided to mostly restrain myself to events that actually happened in Timeline 616, where a "typical" superhero or civilian might have read all about in the newspapers, or heard about it in a briefing at the X-Mansion, or whatever. I've got to draw the line somewhere, after all. ;)

Believe me, I dwell on the events in Kahndaq - Black Adam's coup and the JSA's subsequent invasion - in loving detail in the current draft of the Parody discussion :)

I have read so many stories set in Genosha that over the years they have largely blurred together in my mind. I figured I would need to research the subject of who overthrew which governments there at which times (or tried to) so that I could touch upon it in my parody after I had the facts straightened out.

Yes.

The Hulk took over the Florida Keys. The rules were: Don't leave, and leave him alone (or something like that). It was pretty cool. He saved the people from a Hurricane too. He might also take over a planet by the end of Planet Hulk.

Fury tried to take down Latveria.

[Doctor Doom]He has also achieved world domination several times, but has relinquished it for a variety of reasons, including boredom. In the graphic novel Emperor Doom, he achieved control of the world by using and amplifying the mind control power of the Purple Man. When the Fantastic Four returned from the alternate Earth to which they had been shunted following their confrontation with the sentient psionic being Onslaught, Doctor Doom remained behind and conquered that planet, which he dubbed "Planet Doom". On both occasions he led the world into a unparalleled prosperity and eventually abdicated, finding the task of world management tedious. In a short-lived series of comics set in the year 2099, Doctor Doom was transported to that time from some point in our current near-future and upon seeing the decrepit state of Latveria he becomes the President of the United States in order to curb the power of the megacorporations based there that were oppressing his people. As a side effect he began improving the quality of life in the U.S. as well, re-instituting democracy and an effective non-corrupt police force.

Dr Doom is badass but i dont like the way, being a SM reader, how i've never really heard of this before, despite the fact theyre both supposed to be based in the same timeline/universe.
