I'm guessing it'll happen shortly after Thor his theaters. I'm just curious to know if anyone has the date.

From the looks of Reddit, I think the review embargo was supposed to have lifted after the cancelled NYCC panel.

I've heard of some reviews floating around...Not sure how reviews work for Netflix shows, usually Rotten Tomatoes dont accumulate a lot of reviews for them maybe around 70-80 reviews total. But that also reminds me I saw this on youtube the other day:

Wow that is a glowing review... I was one of those people that thought Bernthal could've been nominated for an emmy for the graveyard scene in DD S2 alone. The way he portrays the character is one of the most intriguing things I've seen on tv. If the review is right and he outdid himself for the Punisher show then I'll know that the only reason why he wasn't nominated was because this is a comic book show and those things never get that kind of attention.

We Got This Covered Review: http://****************.com/tv/punisher-season-1-review/

Not as positive with the main complained being that the show is too dark.

I expect some extreme reactions on both sides of the spectrum for this one.

The reviews sound pretty damn good so far.

Yeah, I read Polygon's pre-review of the first half of the season. The biggest thing they had to say was, "It may not be what you think." Then after reading what they had to say...it sounds EXACTLY what I thought it was gonna be. I have a strange feeling they literally expected nothing but 13 episodes of balls to the walls nonstop gun violence, but you can't build a show on that. You sure as hell can't sustain it for an entire season. It simply sounds like the espionage was unexpected for some reason. It sounds like the show covers some VERY hot button issues right now though, and that seems incredibly interesting to me. I can't wait. Oh, they were also going on about how this felt the most disconnected from the rest of the Netflix shows, and it's definitely the least comic booky, only mentioning super heroes once or twice. Far as I'm concerned, this was to be expected. I'm sure by the end of things Russo will get his face all ****ed up, and we'll get our Jigsaw. Perhaps that will satisfy the reviewer's need for something over the top enough to dip it into the Marvel hyper reality it has created for these shows.

Yeah, these reviews are reading exactly as I had hoped they would. I'm even more excited to binge this sucka! With this being so good though, the Disney streaming service now worries me that much more. I know they specifically said no new shows would be coming to Netflix, but what about the ones that are already there? Did it put a halt to DDs3 or IFs2? We're going to FINALLY get a fantastic version of Frank, and he's going to wind up in limbo again while it takes forever to sort this garbage out. :( Same thing with DAD. They're gonna take so long these folk's contracts are all going to run out. I wanna keep these people in their roles. Casting has been unbelievably perfect. Well...we won't talk about the "Knight of Flowers." :lmao:

Glad to see that most of the reviews are positive. Can’t wait!!!

71% so far on RT after 14 reviews listed. Solid start. This show may not be as polarizing as I thought. Hyped.

Some of the negative reviews were strongly negative, so it might be polarizing, but it seems both generally positive and what I want it to be.

That being said, I do also want to emphasize it's the review of the first six episodes. I kinda don't like RT scores for half of something, but, as long as we keep in context what the score is, it's encouraging.

I like how several of the positives declare it either one of, or THE best Marvel Netflix venture to date. So despite the polarizing nature, it doesn't sound like we have another Iron Fist, or even a lukewarm Luke Cage reaction here.

That's exactly what I was thinking, at least it isn't getting absolutely trashed off the jump like Iron Fist did, I actually did like IF too. Some of the reviews saying The Punisher is the best of the Marvel shows is really exciting to me, if I liked IF then I'll probably like Punisher lol.

The score on Metacritic is lower than I expected :( oh well, Daredevil S2 had kind of a low rating and that's my favorite of the Netflix shows so we'll see.

A couple of the negative reviews basically called it boring. That's certainly subjective, but the thought crossed my mind that calling something one note/boring would be a convenient cover for not liking, or being uncomfortable with the show having too much extreme gun violence....That could very well be cynical on my part, but it would save them from criticism of being too political or biased.

Or it could be they just found it boring.

From the reviews I read, they save that for the last few episodes. Most of the series is building up to Frank's rampage. It doesn't have action scenes in every episode like Daredevil does but spaces it out more like Luke Cage.

It certainly sounds like it has a slow start either way. Still, I am totally cool with slow starts as long as the payoff delivers.

I’ve never been one to trash RT but I feel like the model must be flawed for TV shows. How is crap like Lucifer and Arrow always at or around 100%? I haven’t even seen this yet and I already KNOW it’s better than those lousy shows. Do they only tally up positive reviews for some shows? Or do only a handful of critics bother to review certain shows?
